Cosplay anyone into it?
If youve ever been to a video game convention like E3, or something for that matter you know what im talkin about. i necessarily wouldn't get dressed up, but i just like lookin at the images some of the girls and photographer produce... lets just say its like modeling, but for gamers and anime enthusiast... for an idea this is what im talkin about... AND no it isnt some sort of porn. so dont depict it like it would be.
guess the characters and game or movie... Mods feel free to lock this thread if you think its not appropiate

Disturbing but awesome none the less!!
I have a friend from highschool who is all into this stuff. Surprisingly hot now too....I saw her again for the first time at a NOPI event (yeah I went......so what?!) and she was in the bikini contest and then came running up to me to say hi. Made me feel pretty baller. Its geeky....But she is kinda hot and real nice. She makes all her own costumes too which is wild. Straight off her myspace

Cosplay is awesome, my fiance and I are into it although we don't actually get dressed up. There are never any events which warrant it in Gainesville.
Personally I've always wanted to make a really nice replica of the HEV suit from Half-Life. Coolest suit ever. I already made a replica of his crowbar, which is really easy to do. Just have to get the right color and size crowbar, paint parts of it red and use it to get some wear, haha. My fiance and I are into Naruto and we found some people who did some really accurate cosplay. Sasuke Hayate Haku and Zabuza Akatsuki Lee! Nice guy pose! Ok, I'm done Good thread.

Seriously not feeling this shit.
It's like some sort of freaky cross between comic book convention nerds and self loathing goths. Ugh... |

i think cosplay is alright. if the right people do it (same body type, skin tone, face, etc), anime/comic book characters can look awesome as hell.

Down here in Atlanta we have something called AWA (Anime Weekend Atlanta) and theres always a bunch of people who dress up in cosplay. I went for a few years cause they always have cool celeb guest. I got Minmei's autograph on a wallscroll (Japanese voice actress/singer) cause Im a huge Robotech/Macross fan. One thing that helped me to stop going was the sight of a 55-70 year old man dressed up as Sailor Moon (Whichever one has the pink hair) No joke, magic stick and all. I was like..... oh fu*k this!

I went to otakon last year. It was pretty hot. Some kid had a replica of Takumi's AE86 that he was driving around.
one of my friends took pics - http://www.flickr.com/photos/cubanoc...7594229635574/ |

I concur with Finite Sounds.
Alot of folks pull it off all Janky and 240 like, but there are a few hardcore cosplayers (?) that do it mighty. Morgan from DarkStalkers, Eve from SnakeEater, and Silent hill. Then GuiltyGear. The Naruto ones i've seen are okay, most JDM folks pull it of right, because again, right body proportioning, and all that. And girls dress up as guys, like that Sakuke and Hayate, and RockLee. More Good naturo ones. and one i thought was hilarious. |

Small details make or break it.
Most tards add an eyepatch lip to the Konoha visor, and that throws it off. That guy rocks it how its supposed to be. My friend did a cosplay for XP-tan. Her costume looked right on. And she's mexican. |
