s13 injector problem?
i have a s13 and put a s14 ka24de motor into it now everything runs fine. put for the longest time i was running on all 4 cylinders. well the problem was i wasnt getting singal to injector 1 so i wired it to injector 2 so im running on 4 cylinders again. now im not sure if that was the right thing to do or not. but now since ive done that when im driving and trying to get past 4k the engine cuts out and sometime the engine will die when im at the light and wont start for 10mins or so. i took my mult meter to the ecu for injector 1 and its not getting signal from the ecu. now like i said it ran fine well besides being on 3 cylinders before i did this, any suggestions

ive already done that there's no signal coming from the ecu to the injector 1 what my question was. is should i get another ecu or is it fine that i have injector 1 wired with injector 2 cause it idles fine but im not sure how the injectors actual spray if they spray all at once or one at a time, cause at idle they all have a constant 12v from the signal

look my bad, and i do know i decent amout about that stuff just not this part. i look on these forums for 2weeks looking for the answer i need and nothing. im pretty there would have been a fire it just would have added fuel in the cylinder when it wasnt needed. theres no need to get all hostile not everyone know everything about these cars right away. " by the way no father no mother was an orphan, lol" but look idc anyways.
So what i need is an different ECU then? Right? |

Sorry I don't know the definite answer to your question but I don't think you should have two injectors wired together cause I Believe they are told to go off at different times. (Educated guess) do you got a friend that you can borrow an Ecu from to rule out that problem?

When you have injector 1 and 2 firing at the same time you won't be running right. The injectors spray a mist and that is what is ignited. If your spark and fuel are not timed correctly you will not have proper ignition of the fuel causing your problems. Since you already tested the injector and no voltage from the ecu then you probably have a fried injector driver. Replace the ecu and re-wire injector 1 properly.

Hi welcome.
Your injectors should always have 12v constantly to them. And yes, you "can" wire your power from injector one to injector two or to injector three etc.. That being said each of your injectors fire by ground pulses. Which means that the ecu controls each ground of the injector. So, three things. If your injector (one) is connected to the right ecu pin, and the ecu is working, wiring it to any 12v constand source would be fine (injector two). If your injector (one) is not firing, but still has a 12v constant going to it, then that means either your wiring to your ecu is bad (the ground), or the ecu is bad. If its the latter, you cannot "piggy back" onto a different injector, or you will get the same firing sequence that injector has. |
