F1Spec Type R1 seat: Installed
Arrived on Thursday evening, but had to wait til yesterday to begin installing it, because the sliders came with NO hardware, and Bride is out of the type LR brackets til mid July. So, called Spraco and ordered a bracket. Talked to Ming over at F1 and he said the the rails that I ordered from them would work perfectly with the Spraco brackets. Well, got my bracket & hardware from Spraco yesteday afternoon and began installing the rails & brackets last night.
The Negative: 1) The rails had a hole that was drilled in order for the hex screws to fit into the seat (fabricated by F1). 2) The rails DID not work perfectly with the Spraco brackets, so I had to drill 1 hole in each rail to make the 2 line up (frabricated by me). 3) The seat belt lock mechanism would not fit into the Sparco sealt belt hole, so I had to do some shaving to make the hole just a tab bit bigger. 4) The seat is a little tight. I don't mind it at all, but I know for some of U heftier boys, this would be a problem. Me being a 31"/32" waist, is just fine. However, my brother who is maybe a 33"/34" waist found it a little uncomfortable. 5) The biggest NEGATIVE of them all; The slider bar DID NOT fit. The slider bar (the bar under the seat that U pull up in order to slide the seat) was hitting a rebar for the seat which did not allow the clips to disengage and allow the seat to slide. I am calling F1 on Monday and demanding that they fix the problem and get me a new slider bar. The Positive: 1) The seat is just a little taller (34") than the stock seat. Which, as some of you may remember, was my problem with the Megan Racing seat (37"). The F1 seat leaves plenty of room below the roof as opposed to the Megan seat which was practically hitting the roof. 2) The seat looks AWESOME! 3) When I sit in the seat, I'm actually lower in height than I was in the stock seat, which is what I wanted. 4) The seat is made very well. 5) Holds me like a GLOVE!!! All in all, aside from the fabricating that I had to do, I am very pleased with the seat. A minor oversight with the slider bar, but I'm sure that shouldn't be too much trouble with F1, seeing how their customer service is great. Enjoy the pix!

And yes, it is pretty much an exact replica of the Bride Gias, but half the price. And the Spraco brackets are already sitting really low. I am now looking into getting a Bride Euro II or Digo for the passenger side, which I intend on picking up by the end of the month. And lastly, reupholstering the rear seats to black cloth.

Been a little over a month and the seat is holding up very well. Since my original post, bought a Bride Gias low cushion, which about 1/2 the height of the original front pad, so there is a lot more room underneath the steering wheel. Also, I have installed an NRG QR steering wheel set (short hub, 2.5 QR, and Carbon Fiber limited edition 300mm steering wheel), which is much smaller than the stock steering wheel. Having the steering out of the way makes it MUCH easier to get in and out of the seat.
