S14 driver side power window
My Driver Side power window switch is not working for the driver side window or passanger side. The only thing that will work on the driver side switch is the lock. The passanger side switch works fine. Ive replaced the drivers side switch thinking its just the switch that did not work. Any info on this will be alot of help. Thanks

what is up my friends, ok first off, behind the door panel ( in the door frame area, is a little gray/whiteish box. its called a window amp. when those go out, the window wont function and more or less you have to replace them. sometimes there are circuits in the amps that burnt from eachother and you can solder them back together. or buy a new one for like 120 from dealer or 30-60 on ebay. hope this helps. oh btw each p/w has 1 amp. driver and passanger side.

Had it happen on a friends S14, was just one solder pot had gone bad in the drivers side amp. 5 minute fix, tap it with the iron and reflow a little solder and you're good. That'd be my guess. From what I understand most cars only have the one amplifier, but I'd have to check to be certain. That's likely the issue, either way.

Another thing you have to be cautious about is that some people actually solder the connection on the harness that plugs into the amp. This happened to me and if the wires move even a millimeter it will not work, I just have to move the wire and it works again. At some point in the future I plan on replaces the connector.
