s13 to 5lug + z32 swap help?

im looking at doing a 5lug swap and 3z brake swap at the same time on my s13.
thinking about picking up a 3z parts car and then doing both at the same time but after reading this post i just want to understand everything before i start.

http://importnut.net...wap.htm#compare

this guys post pretty much has everything but im still confused on a couple parts...

as far as doing the rear swap.. 5lug + 3z

it says use either s14 or 3z hubs and stuff but when you do this in an s13 then you cant use s13 coilovers? or am i misunderstanding this..?

so you guys that have s13 with 3z rear brake conversion are not using s13 suspension or coilovers?

any info if you do happen to know would be nice cause ive been reading and still not clear on this...

first time doing the 5lug swap let alone 3z swap, told myself that i was happy with 4lug forever but now that my sr20 is tuned... i wanna make sure i can stop too!

the hub from s14 and NAz32 is plug n play.

what ur misunderstanding is if you use the aluminum z32 upright. in that case you have to use a "fork" type mount for rear coil-over. or z-23 shocks.

so just use z32/s14 hub and put it in your stock upright.

why would people wanna change the upright?

whew, i was worried that i would have to retire my coilovers at the cost of 5lug and 3z brakes..

thanks alot!

because the z32 turbo knuckle is aluminium, as stated, so it weighs a lot less.

edit: wow, i missed the boat on that one

The 300ZX upright is aluminum hence dropping a good chunk of unsprung weight. Thats the biggest reason most people change the upright.

Rears
-S14 or N/A Z32 5 Lug hub
-Aftermarket 5 Lug Hub

Fronts
-S14 5 Lug Hub, S14 Upright, S14 Ball Joint
-Aftermarket 5 Lug Hub

tt z32 hubs have a larger internal diameter, the splined section is physically bigger then the NA or s14. so your axels will not fit in TT hubs

hmm i understand, so basically if i got a tt z32 doner shell that was complete drive train then the rear would swap over to an s13.. like if i took the axles, diff and hubs?

im going to go with what ever i can get for cheapest but just wondering on my options

no. not really,

Z32TT uses R230 diff which IIRC is physically too large for s13 subframe.

also axles from z32 are longer then s13.

best bet for 5-lug is s14/z32NA

Your options are
Front....S14 hubs and spindle or Conversion hubs. NA/TT z32 front won't work at all. J30 hubs with s13 bearings pressed in.

Rear....s14 hubs bolt on. Only NA z32 rear hubs. Conversion hubs.

You can also use the rubber z32 brake lines they are just a little long
