j30 on s13
after installing my j30 diff on my hatch
which went super smoothly my friend and I realized the two big bolts that hold the diff before the drive shaft didn't catch any thread because the bushings on the j30 diff have a long kinda spacer thing inside the bushing my open diff didn't have any bushings wtf? we had to pulled the whole diff again to cut these longs spacers inside the j30 bushings which was a b$%@#%%! after we cut the spacer things everything went good but but we kinda messed up the bushings i wanna get another set of bushings asap but idk which kind to get!? i dont want solid bushing since its my dd did anybody had this problem and solved it a different way?? thanksss |

how to swap a s14 vlsd into a s13........... : 240sx General Discussion
s14 and j30 use the same bushing, so if you did it this was you are good. j30 to s13 been done so many times s14 to s13 been done so many times ......there should be no reason to doubt if it will fit, or if it will take a shit on you while your driving. at least you retained the oe mounting hardware. glad to see you didnt use spacer to keep it in place. |

after doing some research i found out s14 diff bushing fit the j30 diff your s13 front mount bolts wont reach the thread when you put the j30 diff im just gonna get s14 bushings and get some bolts at lowes or try to ask the junk yard if they still have the bolts from the j30 hoping those fit |

if you use a j30 from the year 95-96 you dont need to change the axles since theyre the same as s13
if you get an older j30 like a 94 and down you need to get the axles as well since theyre different for the 300zx one you need to get the axles from the older j30 differentials |
