i found a black 240 at a dealer 1995 for 7088. at a dealer dont know the milage though. good price or not.

They probably have less than 4 grand in that 9 year old car. I would offer them 4700 and see if they bite...if it is really clean!!

even if the mileage was at like 60k and everything on it was perfect i'd still say its quite pricey. as bill said its a nine year old car. anything that old is going to have problems. figure swapping tires, brakes, fluids and some basic repairs and u'll easily spend a few hundred getting it into 'decent' condition.

for comparison, i got my 1995 240sx (base) for 4200. that was with 95000 miles. it needed new pads/rotors, new tires, and had a tranny leak which i had to fix.
