Thats crazy! ! ! Well I have a 95 S14. I need the power. I got the bodykit on order and my stereo finished. Including my interior. All I have to do is put the paint on when the body kit arrives and add power. I'm trying to decice whether to just go with the stage 3 N sport turbo kit. or to swap the engine with a sr20. They'll both be around the same price. What should I do.

That was some guy who claimed to have 230rwhp. Kinda stupid if you ask me. There is no way to get 230rwhp out of the KA on NA without some MAJOR MAJOR high compression, which the kid didnt have.

He probally meant 230 at the flywheel and was just geussing what horspower he had from various bolt-ons.
I wouldn't believe it unless I saw a bill for some serious race work done which would of been cheaper to buy a turbo kit, or a dyno sheet. |

Well its possible. Of course it would cost quite a bit. you could probably get away without overboaring. though you would have to kife edge the crank ,race pop up pistons with race rings, shotpeen the rods balance and blueprint the whole assembly to nth degree. Then you would start work on the head . This is were you are going to extract alot of extra juice. Larger valves , race valve job, serious port work and some nasty ass race cams. Then you would focus on the fuel system. Larger injectors and throttle body , cold air intake, Major ecu upgrade. you therotically could pull it off. By the way what I just described is like a $6000. engine job. Simple solution, Turbo or supercharger, save money, more reliable due to less race modified components.

Well, Rich Bjornson of Fatman Racing has a N/A 240 that he's worked on a bit. IIRC, he was still putting out under 200 rwhp. I think it was somewhere in the neighborhood of 170ish or something, which isn't really that bad for NA. As far as boring out the KA, it's almost impossible, since the KA is bored almost to it's extreme. There's not that much farther to go without getting the walls critically thin. 2.7L would be impossible out of a KA. I think a N/A KA that has been worked over would be a pretty rough drive on the street. Usually going N/A means RAW power...real rough. That's why turbos are so nice...still have the refined feeling for everyday street driving, and the "PSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSHHHH" for when you wanna haul some arse!

i was there when rich dyno'd at the UNoN meet <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':D'> were you there too? i thought he had 165 though which is still good. i read in one of his posts, he tied with a 30th ann. trans am 6 speed with exhaust and chip, all the way through 3rd gear. not bad.

I don't know if this is the same site I saw a while back, but the site I saw the guy was running 12.5:1 compression with many other mods. He said he was selling the engine to go turbo because he had to run 100 octane feul which was too expensive.
