Thanks for the response, I'm looking at an R32 and just wanted to get an idea. Sucks that they are taking their time on it. Go figure. Have to wait for the boat to get here and no you have to wait for the guy get off his ass. Hopefully soon, looking forwards to updates!

steve at Rivsu went up to Jville to visit and check on the "kids". I don't know if he sent me things to make me feel better, or to drive me insane..... maybe both?
(custom JDM port authority sticker, lol will be coming off) few group shots

Here is a list of MOST of the cars they have sold and the price sold at, really good reference point. things have gone up since I bought mine, but there still are deals to be had. there is currently a black GTST for $7,142 that they just picked up and are in the process of putting on up on the their website. That car is in amazing condition compared to what mine was in, and it is 5spd. Steve posted that on Skylineownersusa and I was just shocked how good a deal that one was. idk the mileage on it or much more about it, but it seems like a spectacular deal.

Noooo, they put a bumper sticker on your fresh paint.
Hope the prices don't get crazy stupid within the year, so I can pick one up. Might have to drive down and check out Rivsu before I make the decision. Not too sure on the whole RHD thing.

The seeing perspective is definitely going to require a bit of learning curve, specially in reference to going around curbs and stuff, but I'm not concerned.

^^^RHD is actually pretty annoying to live with if you plan to daily the car. Its fun for a bit but the novelty wears off pretty quickly. The main thing that made me dump my RHD s13 awhile back was the fact that I couldn't see to pass farm trucks and school buses on all the 2 lane country roads we have around here. City driving isn't too bad as long as your extra careful when making lane changes and passing. My experience with that hatch was the main reason I decided to put my GTR fund into a powervehicles tour of Japan next year instead. RHD did feel amazing on the track though, 2nd to 3rd up shifts just felt natural to me with the RHD setup.
Car looks great though and it looks like you have a pretty good collection of parts. Looking forward to more! |

Other then flicking the wipers instead of the indicators, you'll get used to RHD cars quick. Just take your time with left hand turns, merging on to highways, and land changes.
Oh and you'll get a lot of "err what the heck?" looks when other drivers see you on the other side of the car. LOTS of stop light chatter as well I have a daily so having a RHD car doesn't bother me at all... Unless I'm trying to go through the drive through by myself |

Yep they have some very neat cars. Being able to go over any day of the week and poke my head and see what new arrivals they have has definitely spoiled me.

Yep, we have decent collection on our hands. It will be bigger as soon as I get the car in my hands. Quote:

it is very aggressive aero and it is stock wheels. My guess would be the wheels were removed before they sold it or auctioned it off.
this is the collection of cars sitting at the port.

Is the car here yet? also how are you going to replace the windshield, side glass if needed? so they make new units in japan like you can get here for 89 cars?

The car is EPA and DOT exempt. That means that any of the nonsense with changing glass, meeting Emissions, and every other rumor that only a 1/4 was ever true don't have to be addressed. There is needing to make this car to conform to any standard as it is EXEMPT from regulatory standards.

iam not talking about exemptions or inspections etc. iam talking about regular wear and tear parts? this is the only real thing that is kinda making me apprehensive of picking up one of these. 1k for a new windshield(overnighted from japan-if they still make them NEW) isn't fiscally smart/sound.

the v.s. question
so gab I have to ask I know you opted for the gts variant because apparently the gtr was way too much. I know you won't know till after you have/drive/own this car for a while. but is it really worth is buying importing a gts skyline??
I already have a s13 with a rb25 neo swap. not drifted to fuck as most guys have on here. it's daily driven and will get a new paint job shortly. in your opinion are the r32 gts chassis that similar to a s13? so similar that aside from the rhd ac hicas(if you want it) there is no real reason to own a gts when you can modify a s13 for the same price(maybe a little more)? and the s13 parts are more avail here than gtr parts(ie interior pieces glass etc)?? so compared to a s13 what makes the gts a better car to own?

These are my prices, no markup before the order is placed next week: R32 - $350 R33 - $500 R34 - $600 They are aftermarket, DOT approved windshields shipping is $100." Local posted these on one of the many private boards I'm on. getting parts is not something that concerns me. I can source just about anything the support is out there from all of the awesome vendors. Quote:
I had an S13, even sold it to pay for this car. For what it would have cost in a swap alone, I would be at more than I have invested in this car with a CAGE, I6 with known miles (not some junkyard motor with "60k Miles" and a hacked harness), and most of all the shell. The shell and the body is not something you can get here. No S13 will ever look like a R32 no matter the amount of FG and bondo. The AC functions, the car only has 72k miles (which my S chassis sold for 5k with a KA and 163k) and at the end of the day I can flip this car for what I have invested into +. Hell I have already been offered more than double (including what I have spend on aftermarket parts) just for the car. you can justify it anyway you like. I have driven R31s with Rb20s, R32 GTR Nismos, Soarer and I have driven just about every production sports car state side(Supras, FDs, Evos, STIs, ect). Is it as much power as a R32 GTR off the shelf? no, but with a tune and a little money invested I'm going to be more than happy with it. The idea that parts are hard to come by is False. Would I daily it? probably not, but I have yet to find ANY part that is hard to source, and an RB26DETT is a direct bolt on and only a dozen or so shops that have them laying around within a 20 min drive (Rivsu, Real Street, Enjuku, Raw Brokerage, JDM orlando, Carisma, ect).... so if anyone is concerned about that they need not be. There have been 1/2 cuts of these cars coming to america for YEARS now and parts are not that hard to source. Sure advance might not know what plugs to sell me, but they didn't know that with my CA either. Quote:
I like that Enjuku is doing Tomei Lexan as well. Will be the first choice if anything cracks on my car.

Why buy a RHD Skyline?
- There are few of them on the road (versus the plethora of modified 240SXs) - They aren't particularly expensive - There are plenty of importers bringing them in now - They are quick out of the box and it is easy to increase power output - Generally in better condition that USDM counterparts of the same age - Many parts from the 240SX/Z32 can be used - Skyline specific parts are EASY to source

I don't believe that is a Nismo. #53 was at the shop and my husband snapped a few shots of it. Car looks amazing. I believe that middle one is a GTR, but I could be wrong.

Rob was joking about when we pull the seats if we would find sushi or left over fried rice like USDM cars that have soda stains and old french fries..... You have been an enormous help through all of this Kunio. Thank you for everything

Why does one have to be better than the other? It is simply personal preference. Gabby likes Skylines and would prefer to own one over a 240SX. Another person may prefer a 240SX over a Skyline. Another may prefer an S13 Silvia over an S13 240SX. We should be celebrating diversity rather than questioning vehicle preference.

There is a Grade 4.5 Nismo GT-R running through the auctions this week. Only 8,000km. It's going to go for a fortune!

It looks like the black 4-door on right has full BN Sports aero. It's a set of fancy wheels away from looking amazing.
