HELP!!! lower ball joint STUCK cant get it out
hey everyone, im in the process of replacing both of my lower control arms and right now im trying to get the ball joint from being stuck in the knuckle. ive tryed pickle forks and no luck, also tryed a pitmin arm puller but it doesnt fit on all the way. ANY ideas????

remove both parts completely and put it in a bearing press

had somewhat of the same problem ..... unbolted the CA and tension rod n nut to the knuckle but left bolt still in just not tightened (to remian still) this thing wld not budge really pissed me off.. i knew it was gonna be something super simple (usualy always is)
finally unbolted the tension rod from the ca gave it a few good wacks and bam it fell out.... patience is a virtue lol

if you dont care about the ball joint then use a torch and heat up the knuckle where the ball joint goes through (it will destroy the rubber boot and catch on fire. DO NOT HEAT THE BALL JOINT, just the knuckle. Then hit it with a hammer and it should fall out really easy.
disclaimer: it doesnt have to be red hot to the point where your deforming the knuckle. Just hot enough for teh knuckle to expand a little bit and heat the corrosion holding it together. Works everytime |

awesome thanks all you guys for the good info. i did finally get it figured out just got some more balls and hit it harder haha. also you gotta jack up the rotor close to its normal position then hit it and it comes right out
