The number of stages is irrelevant... sorta.

If you want a good-quality paint job, you will want dual stage color then clear. Single stage is nice, but will not last nearly as long and is much less durable in the face of UV's, the elements etc.

Factory Nissan exterior paint is two-stage. As far as your engine bay and other areas go, I am not sure exactly what they did at the factory, but it left a lot to be desired haha!

ah, so factory is 2 stage. for almost 25 years and still having oem paint it's holding up pretty well compared to others(just fade and clear peeling).

i need some high def pictures. i have some dings and dents. but i want the factory paint color and my s13 front end done in it too.

i really don't want to spend more than $1,500.00(i can remove the lights and fenders myself). on this paint/body work.

who here has gotten thier car sprayed??

I had my engine bay sprayed not too long ago... As you prolly already know, Andy and I did all the prep work & priming... S14 ultra red and clear coat ran me $350 IIRC. Get the paint code and give Bobby McKay at Schaeffer a call.... see what he'll do it for and how to keep the price inside your budget.

Just got quoted $4500 to get my car done to "better than factory" including removing all the dings and dents. Looks pretty similar to yours, minus my front bumper is a little rough.

Going to vinyl wrap mine and cover all the dings and dents instead.

find a better paint shop. 4500 can make a 350+ whp car. as far as the paint goes. two stage is best

High quality paint isn't cheap. You can spend a lot of money just on the clear you choice.
