^^^ agreed
ABS pump is a very obvious item under the hood. And mashing the brakes wont always tell you if you have ABS or not. There is a thing known as ABS lock-up, or hell the ABS could not be functioning...then with your "wisdom" driving to road speed and mashing the brakes to try to figure it out, you could hurt yourself or someone else |

I love when people dip into threads and offer smart-assed answers when the question has already been answered.

Since it's an S14 in the picture I doubt he has HICAS. Note that's spelled with an 'A' too, not a 'U'.

If you are buying brake pads, in my case you can't just go by whether you have abs or not. I have an ABS 95 and it came with non-ABS calipers. The first time I did my brake job (man time flies by...4 years ago?) I bought ABS pads and tried to install them. Turns out Nissan put non-ABS calipers on my ABS car.
And no I seriously doubt anyone swapped them. I bought my car from a middle aged lady who was the 1st owner. |

uh, your post was dumb because any 'not mechanically inclined' person who stumbles across this thread will have learned how to check for an ABS actuator under the hood, thereby rendering your advice completely useless.

Indeed, rather then describing some half-assed attempt at figuring it out, the proper information was presented.
Your post was counter-productive and could lead to someone damaging their car, someone's property, or possibly injuring themselves. In closing, if you are only going to offer suggestions of this nature, then please stay out of the Tech section.
