KA ka24de cooling system leak

I've never owned a ka before and I recently bought an s13 with a ka in it. I'm not too familiar with the ka platform but there's a pretty nice leak in the back of my motor somewhere. I can see it dripping off the trans bell housing. I'm thinking it's got something to do with the heater core and coolant bypasses back there but what else is behind the block in this motor are there any common places on the ka this happens to? It's definitely not coming from the front of the motor it's behind it.

Only thing behind the motor is the heater core, those fittings are plastic and are pretty easy to break. When you say bypass do you mean someone disconnected your heater?

i would start with a pressure test, watch for coolant drip. Confirm leak & repair. While your messing with cooling system run a head gasket test (blue liquid).
