High Oil Pressure - 1989 S13 SR20 Redtop
Hey guys,
Ever since I bought the car, I've noticed the oil light on the dash come on. I checked the oil level, and it seems to be fine. I check routinely too. Oil light is still on. The previous owner had installed a Blitz DC Oil Pressure Gauge. For some reason, at idle at normal operation temps (I'm running 5w30 synthetic), I am reading the following value: Is this normal for a redtop SR20 at idle? I read that normal idle should be around 11-15 PSI. Any help is appreciated, I don't feel like driving the car with the light on. Maybe its a bad sensor? First step is to check oil pressure by means of a mechanical gauge. I have a Snap On test gauge. Once you determine the actual oil pressure you can now eliminate the bad components be it the low oil pressure switch it the Greddy gauge.
