Looking good dude. Crazy skills on the welding. Ever try welding two soda cans together?
Also, will you be keeping the front tire/wheel setup that wide? For some reason the tire/wheel size seems like overkill and with a smaller wheel/tire combo you could probably end up getting more angle. Keep it up!

This build is fucking insane. I still remember subscribing to you on YouTube when I saw your video about how to put on and adjust coilovers XD
You are living the dream that some of us here - including myself - would love to live: building a drift car and making a career out of it. In addition to having an awesome girlfriend! Keep up the good work Matt!!! I almost wanna drop out of engineering for now and take a bunch of welding classes because of you and your build hahaha P.S. My favorite part on your car is the KA24DE connecting rod. |

Long overdue UPDATE
UPDATE!! ☆ ------------------ ☆ ------------------ ☆ It's been a while since I last updated. Things have been a bit hectic on my end with fufilling/processing website orders while going through the process of expanding to a larger location. Might as well build the rear end right? This is the rear frame rail tie in made of 1.75"x.120" DOM tube that will contain and protect the fuel cell. Now instead of welding the bash bar assembly to the frame rail tie in; I decided to make an intermediate crush zone out of 1.5"x.095" ERW to further protect the fuel cell and battery. Next, I fabricated the fuel cell support structure out of 1"x.0625" square tube. Convenient jack point placement on the structural tubing. The intermediate tube will be removable using these interlocking Chromoly clamps. Some welding detail shots. Set into the rails for a quick mock up, looking good! Next was the rear bash bar assembly. I cut, bent, notched, and tack welded all the required tubes. I don't have pics of this, but I removed all unnecessary sheet metal panels from the car including the trunk latch panel and hinges. So, in order to keep the trunk on it ill need to have some type of latching mechanism. I came across these awesome products from a company called Quik-Latch, tiny and aesthetically appealing. More weight reduction can be seen here. The heavy panel separating most of the trunk area from the passenger compartment has been cut out. The rear section of both wheel wells is also being removed. A couple of poop pictures. The rear strut towers are also being replaced and raised 3." This is the finalized design of the fuel cell designed as one flat sheet metal pattern that will fit perfectly into the existing rear structural tube. Designed this wheel in class, I am seriously considering making a set for this build. I also bought a new toy mainly to weld in base plates. Like these rear frame rail end plates Bye bye arches and all excess sheet metal left over from previous cuts. ☆ ------------------ ☆ ------------------ ☆ FOLLOW FOR UPDATES Instagram: @StreetFaction www.facebook.com/streetfactionengineering ONLINE SHOP: www.streetfaction.net
