Well... walking through the school parking lot, I saw a MX-6 drive by.  I wanted one of those before my 240sx came along, and I thought that I knew a bit about them.  But then I saw a gleaming FMIC.  Thinking that it might have been a FMAF (Front Mount Air Filter) I walked infront of the car to make it stop.  Then I saw a hot pipe and a cold pipe comming off of it.  In disbelief, I looked at his A-pillar, which housed a pair of gauges in a pillar pod.
Now, Tampa is known for rice, and I have seen a million people with pillar pods and no nuts to back them... so I still wasn't a believer.  Finally, I stared at him, and flipped him the bird, and yelled "those cars suck!" to get a reaction.  The reaction was squealing tires, turbo spool, blow-off valve, and squealing tires.
So... is this a common thing to do to MX-6's?  Cuz this is the first I have ever heard about...
-Jeff

The 1st generation MX-6 GT models have stock turbo's. Thats the 88-92 models. The car produces 145 hp @ 4300 and 190 torque @ 3500 at 6 psi.

They may be FWD, but they certainly do not suck. First off, they are VERY reliable. Secondly, the ECU and fuel system can handle up to 12 psi, while the internals are good for more. So if you pop in a $35 Dawes Boost Controller device and a 3" exhaust, you can push about 190+ hp for relatively little money.

Ok someone tell me i'm wrong, but my friend was looking into that stuff, and he said that he found a conversion kit, that would convert a civic (or accord) turbo kit to be used on mx-6. So basicly u get a civic kit, get a mx-6 convo kit, and put those 2 things on the car. I mean he got an fmic, so he doesn't run on the stock setup anyways.

That would be dumb.

civic kits are sized for civics. I'm sure there's a company out there that makes a kit for the v6 mx-6.

true, civic's tk would be too smal for a v6 mazda. But it might've been an accord turbo kit i just don't remember. I know it was a conversion kit for a turbo kit for one of the hondas. I mean they do prododuce v6 accords, don't they?
