Nurvcom I had another question regarding the wiring. you stated that in the s13 harness.. the center white plug has a white/black wire but i can not seem to find that in my sohc harness or dohc harness.. and that it goes to the red/black wire.. but then later later you put that you have to connect the red/black wire from the black s13 plug to the red/black wire from the white nx plug.. so do i connect all three of these together? sorry i'm just really confused here. would that be the pink/black wire (instead of the white/black as you stated) from the center s13 plug to the black/red wire (instead of red/black) from the white nx plug?

Has anyone figured out how well it reads 3 digit speeds?
Is this accurate all around (gas levels, temp, speed, & tach?) Is the tach much more responsive than the speedo? Anyone try it with single cam temp sensor yet? I am thinking of doing this for my s13 ka24e-t and figuring out the hud at the same time. Also how is it backlit? I'm wondering if I can the bulbs with colored bulbs. I want to match my gauges |

the gas level tach and temp are accurate on mine. i have a dohc temp sensor. the speed isn't because i still have a dohc speed sensor, i'm changing it out soon.

So, this CAN'T be done to an S14? I skimmed through and saw the post 'to bad not for an S14', thats about it. I have a spare S14 cluster/sub-harness and would just need to get the NX stuff. Would the SOHC speed sensor trip the CEL on OBDII models? I'd love to do this if possible without setting off a CEL for a P0500.

I just did it on mine as well and i love it. I had problems with the wires as well since i have a newer cluster with different color wires but i went through the wireing diagrams on both the 240sx and NX1600 and figured it out... pics and vid yo.....
the vid is not that great because its off my phone |

Basically what wire controls illumination on the nx cluster and what wire it connects to on the 240 cluster.
Basically what color wires get used on the nx and what they plug into on the s13. Any info is greatly appreciated. |

I tackled this project over the weekend..
the wiring posted is close, but not exact, each NX cluster is wired the same, but the colors are different varying if its auto/manual, and year of production. my S13 wiring harness was also slightly differently colored (1991 240sx) I used the s13 FSM, and the NX fsm, compared wires, and then got both clusters, and both harnesses, and took it one wire at a time. :::Notes of interest ::: -DOHC temp sending unit works perfectly (although cold is 2 notches above the c when cold, instead of right on the C), and the digital temp gauge reads much more accurately. -DOHC Speed sensor reads DOUBLE, and if wired perfectly, will still maintain a 115mph speed cut, so that means you can go 56 mph, before the engine cuts.. which SUCKS. definatley need the sohc sending unit. -Gas gauge is accurate -tach is accurate Ill let the pictures speak for themselves. also, for any interested parties, this is a VERY accurate gauge of how bright it is during the day. depends on what cluster u get
if im not mistaken the sohc sensor worx only for the 91-92...mine is from a 93 and it was reading doble with both the sohc KA and s13 SR sensor but fixed it and now reads right or 1.5 miles under what the cluster says |

i wouldnt mind doing it, its just they are getting harder to come by and to sell it with the wireing all done and proper speed sensor would probably cost upwards of $200 and not a lot of people are willing to pay that for a used cluster
