SR20DET swap (auto to manual)
I just finished up my sr20det redtop swap into my s13 240sx, the car was originally automatic and now standard. I went to turn over the car to build oil pressure and I was getting no response upon turning key over. Checked connections to lower engine harness everything is on and good including starter.
I realized that going from auto to manual means that my neutral safety switch only allowed the car to start when in park or neutral so If this is the case then it would not turn over regardless. How does one go about solving this problem? |

You have to jumper the neutral switch wire...look around online, there should be a guide on where it is. I've only done it once and that was years ago so I cant remember what color wires they were by the engine bay fuse box.

the neutral safety switch is located passengers side underneath the main fuse box in the engine bay. Once you find it, just bypass it and you should be engine start!

Awesome!
Thanks for the input, I found the plug and just connected the neutral safety switch wires together and the car built oil pressure. Talk about a good feeling knowing shit works! |
