Need some help with this ASAP.
I'm using a Dakota Digital SGI-8 to get the tach signal cut in half for my VH45 (V8 signal, 4 cyl gauge). I've got the wires all in the SGI like they should be, it's getting power/ground but for some reason, the yellow/red tach signal wire doesn't seem to be doing anything.
The green light on the SGI stays steady when it has power but blinks when it receives a signal and is working but mine isn't blinking when hooked up correctly. The tach still reads double when hooked up to the SGI so it's leading me to think that some other wire than the usual yellow/red is the signal wire. But the black/green tach signal wire from the VH45 ECU is hooked up to the yellow/red wire in my s13 at the dash connector and I'm clearly getting a signal at the tach, its like it's just bypassing right through the Dakota Digital. This doesn't make sense!
I cut the yellow/red signal wire with some scissors while it was running and the tach dropped to 0 and stayed there so obviously that's the right signal wire. I'm following this video on the setup:
