Is this s13 a good deal??
So this is my first post on zilvia. I'm coming from an s2000 and I don't know much about 240s. So I'm looking for a good 240 daily driver and I think I found the right one.
It is a 91 s13 hatch with a clean title, 55xxx on the blacktop sr20det and 150xxx on the chassis. Here are the engine specs: -Blacktop sr20det -5spd -Built bottom end with eagle rods and Aries pistons bored over .20 -Brand new Aries piston rings -All Brand new acl race bearing -Arp head studs -1:1 cosmetic metal head gasket -Vvl lifters (not installed) -T25 turbo -Fmic -Rep hks bov -New water pump -New thermostat -All new Oem gaskets And he doesn't give how much psi he is running or the tune. For as much information as this is, do you guys think its a good buy? He also said it has a lifter tick (no idea what this is) but that he is going to install bnib vvl lifters over the weekend to fix it. Is this an issue? Also how reliable do you guys think it would be? Thank you very much! |

Does he have proof on the bottom end? I don't know anyone who would build the motor just to stick a t25 on it. Cometic head gaskets tend to have a love or hate relationship with owners. Some people have no problems others hate them.
What price is he asking? If the shell is clean you might offer like 4k. I know there's a car local that just needs a paint job with similar mods going for 3k firm. 55k miles on a built bottom end sounds fishy. Unless he drove highway daily. Normally when you build the motor you then say miles since rebuild... more than likely it's stock ecu and tune so I wouldn't push much more than 12 psi. 14 is where mine stopped gaining in performance. |

18 and coming from a S2k? Why downgrade? You honestly don't seem too confident with car mechanics and workings, and 240's aren't exactly new cars.
In the end, it comes down to if its worth it for you. |

THIS...who the fuck downgrades from a S2K into a POS S13?!?! Stick with a reliable stock S2K, slap some suspension, wheels, intake/exhaust and call it quits.

You havent posted pics but I think you should keep your s2000 man.. or if you want a 240 THAT bad keep looking for one in good enough condition where you wont even question if you want it or not.
