1jz s14 remanicance build
Hello everyone,
My name is Devhin Hansen, and I finally decided that i need to do a damn build thread! Not only does this act as a personal blog that you can look back on and be like "DAMN WHY THE FUCK DID I DO THAT" but it's good for the memories. A little history, I built a 1989 coupe that everyone despised of when i first bought it, i payed $400 bucks and an xbox for it so it wasn't the prettiest thing in the world. After a couple years people seemed to shut their mouths though, however i didn't document any of the building Some of you may or may not have seen my coupe, but it's been flying around on the internet. Here's a picture of it, along with my video I made for it I eventually posted the car, and got a surprising snag from Kyle Schloss, Pit crew member of Conrad. He bought the car outright with CASH, so right after that i bought a G35, then later accommodated the G35 with a GSXR. Over time I started to miss the fact of my car breaking down and working on it, the feeling of boost, the sound, the blow off valve, DRIFTING IN GENERAL.. I HAD TO GET BACK IN THE GAME.. My buddy Ryan ended up having to post his 1996 S14 up for sale and I was fortunate enough to have just enough funds to purchase it! I went straight to the bank! THEN STRAIGHT TO HIS HOUSE TO GET MY NEW PROJECT! BOY WAS I STOKED.. You can see the look on Ryan's face on how bummed he is that it's leaving him Managed to get it home in a couple pieces, lol Filled it up and drove around and man, FUCK THE KA The car came with a set of XD-9 Work Emotions 18x10 all around and the front rims needed tires so i purchased some rubber. The car also came with origin front fenders and origin kit but the front end was "Zenki" and I seriously couldn't stand looking at it, so it was parted out within the first week i owned it, but i did get the rims fitted on! I had to drive up to Olympia, WA with no hood to meet up with Russell at Nissanparts to buy kouki hood and lights, and ended up getting pulled over for no hood 5 minutes away from the dealership! lol I noticed the inside of the car was FILTHY as hell and the road noise was beyond unacceptable, i had to yell at my passenger to talk. I realized the fenders were wide open. So the rear tubbing process begins, MAN WAS THIS A BITCH.. NO MORE RUBBING HERE! Slapped on some origin 50mm wide body and test fitted the skirts. A local guy, David needed an engine, so i sold him mine after i cleaned it up a bit. Payed my buddy Aaron $30 bucks and dinner to pull the motor for me, lol Decided to watch some live stream formula D and rip out my interior so i could start cleaning every inch of the car.. Power washed the inside of the car, it was filthy as FUCK, oh my god.. To make it a tad bit more quiet i added some knock off dynamite to the trunk, fender wells, and doors. My next power plant will accomodate for the extra weight almost all converted over to kouki! could not stand the bubbly ass zenki tail lights. Alex Paraskevas needed some s14 seats, so I traded them to him for his brand new Apexi AVCR, time for a legit ass boost controller! I'm Stoked, thanks Alex! I can't stress how much this guy has helped me in the past on my coupe. Last night i got around to installing a Walbro 255 LP fuel pump, and pulled off both the rear and front bumper supports so i can fit my origin kit on. decided against tubbing fenders due to not knowing where to put the huge ass fuse box, and power steering reservoir... The nice thing is that the s14 has bigger fender wells than my s13 did, so I should be fine..
Anyways got the bay all prepped for paint tomorrow! can anyone guess what color i'm going to do? lol cut out bigger holes for the lights. PAINT SHOULD BE DONE BY TOMORROW! |

lol thank you alex! sorry guys, i was wanting to pull it out in the sun and get some pictures so you can really see the pearl, but it has been raining the last couple days.. plus my 1jz came in, lol been super busy..
Heres a better pic of what the paint looks like.. Getting the battery tray out was hell, had to hack up the engine bay, then bondoed in the holes/cuts i made in the metal, that took hours alone just doing body work, lol Got my Motor also needs a lot of work before going in that pretty engine bay.. it came with a tech 2 swap kit, so i'm going to powdercoat the front crossmember orange or something, lol |

yes VQ is still for sale, and i am actually selling this 1jz, i have a vvti coming in next week
and BigPawr, i used a DA sander for most of the engine bay, and used scotch bride on the rest of the hard to reach places.. I used a lot of bondo on where the battery tray used to be, i literally had to hack that shit out, lol.. but yeah I sprayed it myself with primer, white base coat, pearl, then 4 coats of clear.. lets see how it holds up to the 1jz!! |

i got a question about the honda AEM, 30-605.. when you buy it does it need to be modified in some sort of way before you run it, or just a re-pin?
