s13 s13 my hood doesnt pop up when I pull the hood release lever

I have to hit it for it to come up
What do I need to fix or replace to get it to work normal?

Have you tried greasing the latch it could be just stuck since its a old car? Also you may have to adjust the position of the hood latch by loosening up the bolts and shifting it up,down, left or right. You can also play with the hood alignment as well by loosening up the 4 12mm bolts at the hood hinges.

Yeah first try this and if that doesn't do the trick then the cable is stretched or broken so you would need a new hood release cable assembly.also before that just double check the actual latch is working as well properly..the part that the hood goes to
