lol... Old_s13 will probably admit he's an assh*le.

anyways, the animated GIF there isn't even a drift.... it actually looks more like what happened to BEISSEN, simple oversteer.

BEISSEN, congrats. Whatever they want to call it, you're trying to learn, and get the hang of thing. Hey everybody's got to start somewhere. The only way to learn to do it.

I have no desire to get in the middle of the shit slinging contest here, but old s13: you do come off as really harsh, and its hard to tell sarcasm from being mean in written text (no tone of voice, or facial expressions).

i'm not a drifter, all i know how to do is get power-on oversteer...but i'll give advice anyway...
when you're learning how to drift, first get donuts, power on oversteer, learn how to control that shit in a parking lot before u do it on hilly, public roads...that way, u learn how to drift before u go up on two wheels, know what i mean? btw, if u havent seen it already, and u have a fast connection, download this www.fxracer.com/videos/drift2/superdrifttechniques.mpg...watch how he feathers the throttle and turns the steering wheel to control the drift, instead of using the throttle to get out of it...also, try two wheel drifts first...hehe

You know what? I think every single person who has ever thought drifing is cool, or wants to know how, or needs anything to do with drifting should watch initial d... that show changed how I looked at driving. And any one who doesn't know what I am talking about... fell free to ask. But the ones who have seen it know what I am talking about and how good that show is for that kind of thing.

Old_s13: I've done better four wheel drifts in a minivan Anyways, most people would say you're not exactly drifting on a 90 degree street intersection.... the more "die hard" (basically the "I watch too much Initial D and read all about it but am too chicken sh*t to try it) crowd will tell you drifting requires using the throttle to initiate the turn and control the attitude of the car throughout the turn... not just kick the tail out after the turn

So basically.....Yea.. that GIF sucks. Stick it in an .avi and link it then
On a side note:
Really, I'm starting to beleive you can "drift" with an open diff. The basic goal of a drift is to rotate the car before/ through the turn by sliding the car .... and it's possible to do so with an open diff (just impossible to keep it going for an extended amount of time).
At the very least... if my backroad experiences aren't drifting (which I don't really claim them to be) they're pretty #### close.

archangel> harsh is an understatement, I've lost my mind on this forum.

aceinhole> oh well, you'de have to be there to enjoy. I had a meet at my shop back then and not only did I have a passenger, but I also had a crew of people watching this silliness. No biggie though, we just pulled a couple minutes of footage since my old tires were slicks and on their way out.

ps: There is an avi in my video section.. its nothing special, just shows me flying around acting like a retard >as usual<. If you look at the avi, you will see all 4 wheels sliding.. but its all good. If you ever come to LA I would be more than happy to take some new footage for you.

yea yea yea..... i'm probably just still mad at this kid that tries to drift his Sentra (has crashed it 3 times since I last knew... maybe more since then) and has no idea about the e-brake or left foot braking.

I wanna drive down for the 240sxCCA meet that's supposed to be this summer so... maybe I can show you some nasty open-diff stuff (is that thing still on anyways??) LoL

(and then maybe I can whack u upside the head with a windsheild wiper or two.... )
