KA Ka24e I ruined my timing HELP ;-;

So I decided to tackle replacing my timing chain a couple weeks ago. Thought I had everything all aligned proper, even the oil pump and dizzy pointed the right way. But after starting it back up, it ran like garbage, backfired, had no power, AND overheated very quickly.

So now here I am tearing it all back down again.

My issue starts here,

>My cam gear is ligned up correctly, notch at 12 and chain mark at about 3.
>The crank pulley should be at 0*, the second notch from the left, but instead is sitting between the 10 and 15 marks.
>I stuck a socket extension in the spark plug hole for cyl. 1 and it seems to be at it's highest point after rotating it back and forth a bit. Only goes in about and inch or so.
>lastly, the lightly colored link on my chain is two links behind the mark on my cam gear.

So basically... Where and how do I start realigning everything to be In-Time? I think I've butchered this pretty badly.
