Hyrbo E-Brake install on s13 (help)?

hey all

Since my car is a track car i want to convert from z32 ebrake set up and install a ksport one or a better one. i did a search and no one had a install thread on one..Has anyone put one of these in at all on a s13? I am wondering even if i buy there install kit where to i tee in lines and which ones...Also if any one has done their own hydro e-brake im sure its all the same type of install. If so any help would be great...

Jim

yeah i was stoked on my ksport products when i dished out the cash....

then after using other higher end parts i will never go back to the "cheap alternitive"

Once i swap my rear brakes for the z32 rears i will switch to the PSM Hydro E brake kit then ad a "park lock" in line for a usefull e brake since i still daily my ride....

MAX Hydro Brake Version 2.0 In stock in the USA NOW!

Standard Hydraulic side brake version two features include:
~More brake line pressure
~Willwood master cylinder
~Adjustable bump stop
~Steel tranny housing reinforcement plate
~Extra long handle
~Heim joint linkage
~Delrin Bushings
~Bomb proof steel case
~Foam rubber grip

$220 + Shipping + $80 for Earl's Stainless steel lines and fittings
Tension Rod Handle option is $100 extra.

To order from MAX USA call 858-566-6969 or email your shipping address for a complete quote including parts and shipping to -email-

heres the install pix, simple huh!

The top port on the hand brake goes to the OEM master cylinder's rear brake output, the end port of handbrake goes to the hard line that used to screw into the OEM master.

Tack weld a reinforcement plate of 1/8" steel to the tranny tunnel, and weld or bolt the hydro brake box to that.
This method is really strong so it does not wiggle and flex like other brakes.

Wow, I wasnt considering a k sport kit but rather was going to make my own kit using a line lock and making my own lines and all. It was going to be a little cheaper than this but I think Im really going to go with the kit just posted! It looks so complete!

And to the op and anyone else, you should not replace or remove your standard ebrake. It would take the cable to snap while parked for you to loose your parking brake which is unlikely, however pressure loss over time in the brake line is a possibility and your car will roll wherever gravity will take it. The hydro brake is used for drifting, not parking.

I'd like to know how the ksport one is as well. I've been looking at which hydro brake kit to get since we'll be losing our factory ebrake with our bbk.

The ksport ebrake works well for me.
I would have gotten the pbm one but I had this laying around so i decided to use it.
I relocated the stock ebrake to the passenger side and welded the ksport unit to the chassis. then you run the lines to the rear distribution block then bada-bing!!!
Hydro ebrake > all others

nah i plumbed the handle thru the rear brake line block near the passenger side wheel next to the fuel lines.
I made custom lines but the ksport ones will work too.
It does not connect like the pbm h-brake.

thats why new hondas have hydro ebrakes as an option along with almost every car on the road? if it was such a bad idea then they wouldnt do it in the first place and leave it as a cable.

worth bringing a thread back form the dead for????
Anyways:

if thats true, then I was wrong about car companies doing it. I have never been in a car that has a hydro e-brake from the factory.

I still stand by having a hydro ebrake be your method of keeping your car parked is a bad idea. I wonder if one of these cars that have a factory hydro brake says to set your car in gear while parking or something.

well with the ksport you can get braided lines that go from your master to your new hand brake and then from the hand brake right to the hard line you removed from the master (I believe that is where the hand brake out line goes but it could be to where the hardline t's off to your rear calipers)

I ended up thinking about this setup a littler harder a few months ago when I decided to upgrade my handbrake. I was thinking that the dual piston rear brakes would be more than massive enough to stop the wheels. I also thought that if Im going to pay bank for projec mu sheos I might as well just get the hydro brake. Well I thought about it a little more and thought even though the hydro brake isnt going to cost much more than the projec mu shoes, simply replacing the shoes is going to be a much simpler system meaning more reliable. Man, they grab too. I have not been able to get the car fast enough for it to NOT want to instantly lock the rear wheels.

So Im not going to be a ton of help, because I opted out of getting that system. (and love it)
