Haha okay s13 with a sr20 black top just picked it up.. Was running a bit rich and doing the jerky movements thing right before it hits boost. So last night took off the manifold everything checked the turbo it's fine replacing the o2 sensor and coolant temp sensor and checking every little vac line and coupler for leaks :/ still nothing as far as I know the car was not tuned lots is half ass jobs are bein found though... I saw from the beginning the wiring was bad :/ but when we pulled the manifold off we saw that the motor mount was half way on so the more I take apart the more fun this should be! Lol. I was just asking because I'm new to the 240 game And he was pretty much going to give me a evo 9 turbo any help on that issue is appreciated haha thanks

IDK enough about turbos to give you any use-able. <---- this should be a sign to atop reading now and find some better usable info lol.
I think a t25 is the original garret turbo used on OEM sr20det. the s15 silvia used a t28 ball bearing turbo made by garret and that i know for a fact is a good turbo. i am looking into a garret t25 to put on my ka24 til i get my 350 situated

I believe the Evo turbo is a different flange than a T25. The bolt pattern and exhaust opening is different (square on T2 vs. Circular on Evo/TD0x turbos).

Holy shit this tread is filled with nonsense and idiotic.

You even said your self, "IDK enough about turbos" then you should really study more rather than giving useless answer to OP. Quote:

Why bother post anything if you are not Certain? You "can" use twinscroll turbo/manifold to non-twinscroll turbo/manifold as long as both have same flanges. Effective performance, reliability, etc could be different argument but OP is asking strictly "fitment" anyways. Back to OP, T25/28 uses standard Garrett 4 bolt inlet flange and 5 bolt outlet. ![]() However, Evo uses Mitsubishi turbo which has different 4 bolt pattern inlet flange as well as different 5 bolt pattern outlet. ![]() ![]() Not to mention compressor side is also different but not as headache as exhaust side. Bottom line, No, evo turbo will not "Bolt on" to your SR20DET unless you spend waste money on customizing the manifold, down pipe etc. In addition, oil lines and water lines won't work on evo turbo either. BTW, I found those pictures on google and I spent less than a couple minutes to do it. Last edited by K_style; 12-18-2013 at 02:42 AM.. |

They ae good turbo's though, twin scroll and able to handle high boost far better than a stock T28. The T28 (in scotland, we get 99 ron so thats what we tune cars with) can run 1.3 bar max, usually get 300+ (at the fly) out of them if pushed to that. run that boost on an Evo 9 turbo with twin scroll it will respond at least as quickly but with the added power. You should easily in the states with your fuel get over 350 at high boost (over 1.3 bar) so ive you can get a manifold and turbo elbow made cheap enough and turbo for free your already looking at 2871 performance.
But if you want a bolt on and go turbo with no fuss get a t28r (the ball bearing one from an S15) they are pretty decent and proven to work awesome with bolt on parts. you wont have to change anything if your car came with a t25 apart from the tune to run more boost ![]() |

if you or anyone like Mitsubishi turbos them why hell not just get TD06 or TD05 that is made for SR rather than customizing 20 different things to make the EVO turbo work on SR? Unless of course you like challenges and have an awesome fabrication skills but OP doesn't seem have have both. |

Here you go, here is the fact sheet about Mitsu OEM Turbos. Read it if you like.
If you are super fan of EVO turbos, get Mitsubishi turbos for the SR and change the CHRA with EVO turbo or just change the compressor/exhaust wheels or whatever. Those journal bearing turbos are ridiculously cheap to rebuild anyways. As the engine exhausts in pulses.. its supposed to result in quicker spooling. From the Evo 4 onwards, the Turbo spins in the opposite direction, i.e. Anticlockwise (hence the R in the turbo name). The Titanium Alumnide alloy used in the RS/RS2 and some GSRS (factory option) has less inertia and thus spins up around 500 rpm sooner. These Titanium turbos can be indentified by the A in their name. Primary source of data: http://www.nzevo.com/index.php?name=...iewtopic&p=188 |

Hell, I even tried to make WRX turbo on my friend's Tiburon back in 2005. Yes the turbo was free. but ended up spending more money on fabricating all other shit. If I was OP, I'd get that turbo for free and sell it to EVO 7/8 guys or DSM guys and buy a proper fit turbo for SR. But again, that's just my opinion. |

True, i guess it depends free + fabrication or pay cash for something that will just bolt on. will always be debate if thats the case between people who can and cant make things work.
I totally bum evo turbos though... sorry about that. |

So, EVO 9 turbos are valued at around $300 to 500 from what I can find.
Then you would have to pay someone to custom make a mani and DP with the customer flanges. Maybe, $600 to $1200 (assuming you can source raw flanges w/o hacking up SR/EVO mani's) Custom water/oil lines $50-150 Tune $50-200 Piggy or Stand alone $150 to 1500 But, you would have a quick twinscroll and a unique set up for around $2000. or But the Full Race Twin Scroll set up for $3300 +/- with a bigger turbo, new intercooler and WG and KNOWN quality fab work. Nissan SR20DET Twin Scroll Turbo Kit - Full-Race.com My 2cents: Sell the EVO 9 TC and buy a T28 or ISIS RS3871 around $500. Good luck. ^ Truth.
