^ great advice. you'll learn 10 times faster, and potentially be saved from trying stupid shit the first time around and save your car.

wayy to many kids "trying" to learn by throwing their car around corners and hitting a curb.

Haha I am defiantly NOT scared to damage the car. I actually like the look. The s14 will be the se because I think it comes with a ka24de. I know grip driving but with fwd. I'd have to say my favorite types of drifts are feint and power over

Wait for rainy day. Take your Honda to the parking lot.
Rip that e brake up.
Power slide into a pole.

This is the stock engine in all 240sx except the ka24e in 89-90.

All usdm s14s have a dual cam ka stock, regardless of trim.

check this thread out.... it basically gives you a simple run through of what in theory you should need to setup the car for drifting. But the most import thing you need is seat time nonetheless!

ALL THOSE NEW TO DRIFTING OR RELATIVELY NEW, CAR GUIDELINES!

The only mods are the NaVaN aero (which is a stock option and is NOT aggressive) and the coilvers which you NEED.

Anyways, thought I'd just drop some suggestions. Good luck.

Im not surprised.... People that like Honda's usually are lacking in the taste department.

On topic- you dont need anything to go drift. Get a 240, and weld your diff (if you have an extra 6-900 laying around you can buy an LSD, but it is not necessary at all), and go spend your money on tires and entry fees. Coilovers should be your first investment, along with adjustable control arms (you really only need rear toe/RUCA's to begin with, if you're on a budget). Anything past a welded diff and coilovers are just luxury's you dont need right off the bat.

Megan coils are the best for drifting. And you should just run some diamond racing steelies because they are strong, cheap to replace, and if you get 15's you're car will be low and tires will be cheap.

omfg... At least find a chassis that's already abused/beat to hell, that way you dont ruin another 240, we already have plenty of those. And hey, it will already have the look you're going for ;-)
Listen, this is what you do:
Find an s13 that's been beat to shlt, primered and covered on sticker preferably
Cut the springs about 20 coils
put a straight pipe on the exhausted ka and a short ram intake with a vatozone filter
hang a lucky charm on your tow hook.
Head to your nearest empty parking lot (double check there is no public, cops are ok) and tried to drift it as fast as you can while going around the thickest pole you can find. If you missed the pole, repeat the last step till you do.

I'm too big for an s13. I don't like the flip ups and I don't want to convert it. The body needs to be in ok condition so my parents don't flip out. I kind of want to do it on public roads

spend a small fortune building 'drift' car
that you can't really drive anywhere without
blowing up your oil pan or worrying about theft
take a lot of pictures
take some more pictures
get featured in a magazine (blog will do too)
sell car and claim to be 'over it'
repost 'glory' pics on forums to remind fools how OG you were/are

congratulations you have succeeded at the 'drift scene'.

He already has one lmao.

Dont talk about street drifting on here, it'll get you banned pretty quick. In fact, dont "learn" to drift in an open lot unless its at a sanctioned event. Is the quick thrill of "learning" to drift around a pole in a parking lot worth the thousand + dollars you'll spend when you get caught and cited for reckless driving, public endangerment, impound fees, etc etc? Think of all the events and parts you could've spent that money on.

My Coupe had more head clearance than my S14 does.
