i just bought a 3" catback from ssautochrome, because everyone on the forums said that it sits higher than any other catback, i got rid of my Bee*r type III for this and its even lower than my old one! is there any way to get it to sit higher? like maybe cut and bend the hangers on the exhaust? or get some different kind of hangers or anything like that?

heres some pics, that dont do it justice at all, no joke its 1.5-2" off the ground

its on tein he's, its pretty low, with 205/50/15's i can fit 2-3 fingers between the tire and fender

Your exhaust hangs pretty low, but your car is very high so it balances

Easiest way to get it hold higher is to get under there and look...

Try jacking it up or getting someone to hold it up and make a strap or something. You might just be SOL and the bends keep it from going any higher.

I would be more concerned about the rust rather then how low your exhaust hangs. I would not feel safe in that car. Thank god there is no snow or salt in ga.

if you read my other post, you'd see i'm looking for another chassis. and yea its a good thing i took these pics i didnt knwo my diff cover was leaking

Someone suggested using hose clamps and tighten them around your existing exhaust hangers. Man....I really need to do something about my undercarriage before it gets THAT bad.

I use hose clamps on my car. Works great. My car is pretty low, so the exhaust still scrapes on driveways and big speedbumps. Other than that, the only issue is having the exhaust rattle on the heat shields because it is so tight against the bottom of the car! I got over that a while ago any way because my exaust also hit my Whiteline sway bar. Noisy car, I don't even try to have a stereo.

Old post i know, but still kind of relevant. Would bending the exhaust hangers be bad? Using stiffer bushing i dont think will help as much just keep it tighter.

actually using aftermarket insulators should help some...opposed to regular ones which are super soft and have slits in them, aftermarket ones are solid and are sometimes made of hard rubber or poly to prevent sagging and swinging...for me, i just got some new ones at your local auto store and just ziptied them with two 75lb zipties...nice and tight, no more sag, but just enough play not to crack my headers or break any studs...but if youre bad enough to rule out insulators then the next obvious solution would be to cut and reweld the hangers...done and done...

Like everyone said use Nismo hangars or use hose clamps tightened around your current rubber hangars to raise it.

...also you might try resealing that rear diff cover, looks like either its leaking really bad and/or your output seals need to be replaced.
