s13 Ignition lock. Key wont come out.

The key used to come out by pressing the little black botton next to the key hole. As of today it doesnt want to press in and let go of the key. I have to take the key out by lifting up the little red "latch" and then taking the key out. Im not sure why its doing that i tried wiggling the key for 30 minutes it wont come out. Maybe a fuse is buned out? Anyone have the same problem? Can someone help?

Is your car back in neutral or park? The sensor that tells the lock to release may be damaged or have a blown fuse. It is an accessory fuse, 15A...can't remember which one off the top of my head. I would check that, then move on to other possibilites.

Hahaha. I pity you!

I had the same problem for a long time. My solution...
Get skinny fingers.

OR

Get a needle nose pliers and just yank you the tiny lever behind the lock cylinder that you have to flip to get the thing out. Takes 5 minutes, and the button still works like normal.
