1992 Nissan 240sx Fastback

I would have to disagree with pacificgreen on that one because my friends 01 v6 can't beat my stock nissan 240sx. Sure its a even race but once we hit 60 im gone. My engine is a 2.4L I4 with 30 less pony's then the 6 and i still beat him. ps...they are both rwd.

Yup, I have experienced the same thing with my 240SX. I have the DOHC 2.4 w/155hp & 160tq on a 5-speed and V6 Mustangs run out of breath on me. I still want a Stang though cause my car is old as hell and quite frankly, I'm tired of it.

For your first car, a V6 isn't bad. My first car was a POS Nissan(arn't they all)... when I was 17 I got a 94 V6 and, at 18, it's enough. I don't recommend street racing, but with a 6 you can still beat many of the rice burners out there (uhh... not that I'd know or anything...) And, if you modify the exhaust, it can still sound good and confuse people who don't know Mustangs ("DUDE! you have a GT!" hahaha) My theory: start at the bottom and work up. When I get my degree and pay off loans, I'm going for a GT.

not that it matters cause i don't really like V6 stangs and i don't know what this thread is about... but i know a guy with a newer (99+) V6 stang running high 14s with just an intake, H-pipe, exhaust. it may be POS, but it would still hand me (and most N/A 240s) my ass in a straight line.

EDIT: what would u expect from a mustang board anyway?

well the older early 90to mid 90's v6 stangs werent all that great and a 240 would smoke them stock and stock, but the thing bout stangs and a lot of domestics is they respond to mods greatly... intake flowmaster exhaust and cams and my friends 94 v6 hauls a$$.
now reguardless the newer v6's woudl kick our A$$

Why buy a mustang if it isn't an 8cyl?? I thaught they were some of the last remaining muscle cars, why buy the skin and not the guts?? I don't know spit about mustangs, whatever....
