HKS SR22det S13 Kouki Type-X build
Got the calipers back, will be running Q45 295mmx28mm rotors with them. I get these at discount through work compared to sourcing 295x30mm GTR Rotors, will be placing my order for new slide pins and conversion lines soon. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

HKS SR22det S13 Kouki Type-X build
Will slowly be redoing the car again, yanking the Mishimotor rad and replacing with a brand new Koyorad N-Flow I still gotta trim my bumper support bars and throw those backon. Seeing the front bumper sag kills me. Also gotta buy a new air/fuel sensor and get the HKS redone and tucked up hire. I ended up ripping my exhaust off a couple weeks back Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

HKS SR22det S13 Kouki Type-X build
It just occurred to me that the temps are at 80 degrees in the morning now and that pretty soon I’ll have to deal with 50 degree days and I don’t do well spraying in temps less than 80 degrees, so time to prep the car for paint before fall starts coming around. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

HKS SR22det S13 Kouki Type-X build
Ok, so here’s the run down of what I think I’m gonna do with the car so far. I will be working on getting the car all one color and try to get all the body work sorted. Slowly been trying to knock sanding out after I finish up with the wing I’ll hit the valences with 220 then 400 and spray them.
I’ll also be refreshing the engine with new rod bearings and fix my timing issue. Decided to pull the valve cover this morning and double check the timing. I haven’t pulled it since I replaced my rocker arms last year. I always said I had a feeling it was a tooth off and I was right. Thanks to anyone who chimed in on my s-chassis Facebook post to help confirm proper timing marks etc. I appreciate that. Going to refit the PSM HMIC as well so I can throw my bumper brackets back on so my front bumper can fit and not sag anymore. Also found out I have Tomei 256 poncams instead of HKS 264’s. No big deal, happy I can visually see what’s actually in the engine instead of going off a list someone’s given me. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

long story short, was off a tooth on timing when I replaced my rocker arms. Havent touched it since, suffered stall out on deceleration and rich AFR's. Pulled rockers off, confirmed was a tooth off. Pulled it apart and readjusted timing. Put it all back together, did new plugs, and compression test and got 160 across the board and vacuum jumped from 10-15 back to the 20 it was at when i first got the motor. Up next is rod bearings as far as engine stuff goes and then continue putting on with prep work for paint. Thanks for reading guys
I Priming oil pump, I have lucas assembly lube on cam caps and cams, poured Royal Purple break in on top for reassurance until oil pump has enough pressure to pump. Click the links for videos, idk how to get them to play on here. First Start up, always stoked when it starts up the first time. Idles so much better compared to before, can't wait to take it out on the streets. Ill update this as I go.

Awesome work on the timing stuff issue, have the same problem with my built CA18 in my S13 and I think its timing related as its somehow jumped a tooth before by its self without destryoing the engine LOL

Hmm let me think,
Front 17x8 +36ish with a 25mm spacer 205/40/17 Rear 17x9 +39ish 235/40/17 40mm extended s14 lowers, GKTECH drop knuckles Rears have s14 PBM lowers with PBM Drop knuckles, Thanks man ! Yeah I timed it wrong with I put it together earlier this year and never had the time or thought to pop the valve cover off. I should have done this right away, feels so good to hear it idle smooth

Since the car was an automatic conversion I never had a shift boot or the bezel that holds the boot on. I never cared to look as there were more important things I’d rather spend my time buying first but my homie ended up posting one up for sale so $20 later I now have a factory boot and bezel. nothing fancy but I’m stoked to not have a gaping hole in my center console. I’m trying to keep interior stock as possible with minimal necessities. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I wouldn’t quite say it’s eBay but I prefer the Koyorad because the fitment of my OEM shroud is a lot better on the koyo in comparison to my mishimoto. My mishimoto hasn’t given me any issues with overheating or leaks but i bought it used to get me by and I’m just slowly replacing parts with new parts for peace of mind and aesthetics. The Koyo’s dual pass is a huge plus too though 🤙🏼

thank you, I did not realize the differences between the two. ive worked with mishi stuff recently and its nice/okay, but ive always been more drawn to koyo stuff. ill be in the market soon for my IS and I will be going koyo (IIRC, pricing is close between the two).
btw, that GS is perfect. so rad. |

There’s nothing wrong with Mishimoto, there’s just some small details I noticed with my old Koyo that I liked better. For example my old koyo had a drain hole on it, the bolt holes for the fan shroud matched the OEM shroud unlike my mishimoto, there really isn’t much to the radiators as far as differences go but I couldn’t even bolt my shroud with two bolts, only one on my mishimoto which I don’t like. Call me picky I guess. I appreciate the kind words of the Lexus man, but the 240 is a lot more fun to drive. It’ll be road worthy again soon.

My new wideband sensor came in at work today so I’ll be throwing the test pipe and sensor back in tonight, so it’ll be ready to drive soon. Have a few small items I gotta button up elsewhere around the car, little by little at my convenience. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

fell asleep driving totalled the lexus, registered the 240, haven't had time to really clean anything up or fix anything either but decided to say screw it and actually drive it.
Took it to VegasDrift and hit the north course, wish i had videos but very happy with how it handled. First time taking it on track, tried doing third gear on the long sweeper, didn't work, hit a cone, and ran over my fg lip. IMG_3273 by Paulo Jurisprudencia, on Flickr on XXR's since i was corded on the Advans IMG_3240 by Paulo Jurisprudencia, on Flickr put a blitz nur spec on since I ripped the HKS off last month at S-Turn. IMG_3203 by Paulo Jurisprudencia, on Flickr Ripped off the blitz nur spec today, Stainless downpipe welds broke on the oval tubing so i just pulled the whole exhaust off again. Sunday Funday clips prior to me ripping my exhaust off, these were from random iphones there that i just all threw together into one video put over a random a day to remember song. PS. who knows how to not have crap audio quality in imovie? Don't expect greatness were just there to kick it and have fun, by no means are we pro's or even amateurs.

HKS SR22det S13 Kouki Type-X build
Well looks like it’s been over a year since I been on, update, Trans has no fourth and picky getting into reverse, clutch master and slave don’t hold pressure, gear oil is all over my twin disc, engine starting to show it needs a reseal, whole car is in process of getting sanded down and engine getting ready to get pulled out for reseal and engine bay respray, also bought a new daily, 2015 GS350 F-Sport which I threw on bags again also. Haven’t driven the 240 since November of last year. Oh I forgot I bought an IS300 Sportcross also, needed some loving but it’s acceptable now

updating just because, is wagon got sold with the advans, so came up on some brand new 17x9/10 rpf1's for dumb cheap, yanked the engine to respray the bay and go over the engine, input shaft is broken on the trans as well as the fourth gear shift ring or whatever and Apex'i twin disc needs a rebuild so gonna grab some sizes and see if the Exedy hyper overhaul kit will work for the clutch. Which im 90% certain it will. Layed low on all the cars lately because im putting my money away for a flatbed tow truck. ill see if i can get some pictures up later on if anyone would really care. Cheers

I like this thread. Sportcrosses and Model 5s are some of my favorite things so it gets my approval. The pics on page 1 don't work for me so I wasn't able to follow as close but cool stuff either way.
