I beat on my car too, grip and autocross racing. That doesn't mean I can't take pride in it actually looking better than a 20 yr old jalopy. When you cheap out and make your car and your work look like shit, you look like shit. Simple. Kids like you amaze me, you have the mentality that being cheap is being cool and cutting corners is the only way to do it. If your plans are to just ruin the car from your failed attempts at driving, why even bother with new lights and shit? Why not take the lights off completely, you don't need them to be a fanboy drifter.

Function over form can definitely be a good concept, but not when it's used as an excuse to do poor work.

When it comes down to it, it's your car. If you enjoy it, so be it.

However, if you can't handle the negative comments along with the positive ones, then keep your work out of the public's view.
