i have a huge problem with my 71 datsun 510. it won't start up for some reason. i went and got gas. then when i was coming home, my car just died for no reason. i was still in gear when i just saw my tach just drop to zero. then i noticed my car died. so i pulled over and tried to crank up my car but it wouldn't start. everything still works like my lights, radio, etc. even when i was cranking my car, my tach wouldn't bounce like it usually did. it just stayed at zero. so i dunno whats up with my car.
lucky for me it died kinda close to my house so i could just walk home. <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=''> |

Sounds like it may be the fuel pump. Pull the fuel filter, and have a friend try and crank it over. If fuel doesn't come out of the fuel line on the pump side, there's your problem. Is it trying to crank over, and just won't, or is it making a clicking noise with no crank over?
