i have a huge problem with my 71 datsun 510.  it won't start up for some reason.  i went and got gas.   then when i was coming home, my car just died for no reason.  i was still in gear when i just saw my tach just drop to zero.  then i noticed my car died.  so i pulled over and tried to crank up my car but it wouldn't start.  everything still works like my lights, radio, etc.  even when i was cranking my car, my tach wouldn't bounce like it usually did.  it just stayed at zero.  so i dunno whats up with my car.
lucky for me it died kinda close to my house so i could just walk home. <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=''>

Sounds like it may be the fuel pump. &nbsp;Pull the fuel filter, and have a friend try and crank it over. &nbsp; If fuel doesn't come out of the fuel line on the pump side, there's your problem. &nbsp; Is it trying to crank over, and just won't, or is it making a clicking noise with no crank over?

hey thanks for the help, but i figured it out. &nbsp;it was my coil. &nbsp;it had some corrosion in it so i guess it wasn't getting any contact.
