sr20det world record on pump gas

i was wondering what the world record is for a sr20det on pump gas (93 octane). i live in md and we have alot of street cars around here that hold world records, such as, fastest all motor k seriers, fastest all motor b seriers, fastest evo on 93 620whp, fastest stock turbo evo 8 450whp, was the worlds fastest talon shawn glazer until john shepard beat him. all of these cars i know the owners personally. all live within 20 miles of each other.

i was wondering what the most hp that has been put on on pump for a sr. right now i have a sick head im in the process of building. already have a b/c 2.3L stroker on the car and am going to a much bigger turbo with my tax money. wondering what the record is if anyone can post numbers and/or graphs or videos that would be awesome.

Most horsepower depends on the dyno.

Fastest depends on the track/day.

These comparisons are a waste of time, IMO.

Google rhombus.

Last i heard its around 690hp. I dunno if that is on pump gas, but hes gatta be setting some kinda record.

That or JUNs race car, but its race gas only.

either way - yes the highest outputs have been , Phase 2 Motortrend, Enthalpy, Rhombus tuning, Hybrid Dynamics, and my own car did 475 which was a US record for dyno dynamcis on 91 octane

yea im only interested in whp on pump gas. not track times. as far as dynos go, yea it is hard to compare if one is on a dynojet and one on a mustang dyno. but of coarse you will see more power of the othe dynojet but get your good tune out of the mustang dyno.

rhombus is on 100 oct. good numbers though.

seriously whp doesnt mean anything. all you have to do is put i giant turbo on your 2.35 and itll make a shit load of power but it isnt gonna go anywhere. y dont you try it put a gt6041 the biggest BB turbo garrett make and own the record???

Not to mention, 'area under the curve' is what we should be measuring ~ the amount of work done by the engine is what's important, not the peak hp number, especially if the powerband is short enough that each shift drops you out of your peak torque range.

That's how you get 500hp domestics in the 10's, and 500hp imports turning 12's.

I bet you can make 600hp, at least for a minute or two.. I guess the better question is what is the highest reliable hp anyone has made on pump-gas. Lots of fun dyno-explosion videos out there...

Using F1 as a reference, I think you should be able to make a ton of hp out of 2 liters.
I remember reading about the F1 engines, and how they need to be kept at near-running temperature even during transportation because of the tight clearances. The BMW team circulates heated coolant through the engines even while they're on the airplanes heading to the events.

I know of a T88 2.2 SR over here that pretty damn quick but we don't have a dyno to prove how much it's putting down. It's surely in the 600whp range. All we have is pump gas btw, 96? octane.

RON to RON+MON/2(Anti-Knock Index) is about 4-5 points lower for gasoline. So 96 RON is about 91-92 AKI(which is the measurement used in the US).

phase 2 motortrend did another dyno like 2 weeks ago. i forgot what they made but it was in the high 600 range.

my car makes, 505whp 15psi,93 octane. on a 2.0L

but it sucks i can make more power on race gas.

your talking about world record sr, but then your talking about a 2.3L stroker kit. thats no longer an sr20,

mazworx definitely has the one with the most power, and the fastest time. 10.5 in tire and sport rwd.

i highly doubt that that 5 "world record" cars are within 20 mins of each other, your talking about the "world"

no body else has put out any proof that they have more power or is faster than those cars. where i live, in central md, there is a mustang shop that has a bunch of records too. jpc. only thing people do in md is cars and drink and drinking doesnt take all of our money so we build cars.

i have alot of work done to my car to keep it reliable. i did all of the supporting modds i had to do to make it 700whp ready so that when i had the money for the big expensive shit (top mount turbo and race head) that my car would be ready for it. now that it is all done im ready. if you say 10.50 on street tires is a record then that will be easy to break. im at 400whp now making 11.50 passes and still have a couple of things to get my 60' better.

maybe we could have a sticky of what the records are of people with dyno and on the track. (tire class, street class, wild ect...)

The fastest stock turbo Evo 8 is owned by a kid in Stamford CT and fastest Evo on pump gas is that black 8 built by turbo trix. The honda shit is also B.S, the Tomei Crate motors for both the b and K hold the fastest all motor records in Japan. Unless you MD kids know something that these engineers don't I can call BS on this whole thread. Or you may all just be using a F'd up Dyno maybe ?

all of the cars built here were done by shops. i talked to some people about the worlds fastest talon. shawn glazer is still the fasted dsm because he used a dsm rear. john shepard used mustang rears.

the evo's were both whp record holders, not 1/4. the stock turbo evo was wrecked 2 weeks ago and totaled. so technicaly he is not the record holder any more. there has not been any one else to put out to this date more power on pump than aj's evo. the evo's were both built by the same guy who worked for shawn glazer for 5 years and helped build the talon. those were all done on a dyno jet.

i dont really know too much about honda's so i have to go off of what everyone has told me. the k motor is making over 400whp in a rsx and the b is in a hatch that is owned by tsr.

also around the corner from all of these car owners is brian and ray at m-a that are some bad ass mofo's too. everyone here can vouch for them.
