What difference does it make?
Some people are running Japanese v8's, some inline 6, and a few 4cyl.

You all make it sound so easy.

Depends on who's better friends with the judges.
Yeah it really seemed like for a while who ever was sponsored by the title sponsor (falken) was guaranteed podium spots.

JR, Chris Forseberg, and Ken Gushi.

For everyone that complains about FD and V8's and Mustangs, I'm curious if any of these people follow or followed D1 in Japan. While Mustangs and V8's weren't present, the exact same issues were present if not moreso. There were rumors for YEARS about who was funding D1 series and judge payoffs and the like. Many drivers stopped running because of the politics behind the scenes. We even lost key judges in that series because of it. Before we talk about the mainstream American drift series, we should probably take a look at the MadJdmy0 jAPanese series. Furthermore, there's NUMEROUS competitions that are less corporate and more grassroots (because that seems to be the complaint). Follow XDC if you don't like FD. Hop on to the European drift scene if you're tired of V8's. I mean, there's options.

Now it seems like Ford is fitting that pattern. 3 out of 5 events have a Ford on the podium. Got two more events to see if that keeps up.
