Pathfinder ring & pinion into s13 r200

Well I've been trying to research and I just seem to get more confused since majority of people haven't actually installed it just posting what they think. So I just want to get a straight answer on this subject.(Is the r&p a direct swap???) I plan on swapping a 4.6 from a early 90's pathfinder in just needing some extra info on this subject. some models came with the 4.3 and only the front diff is a r200 model so you have to go by vin number if you want the 4.6.

Also wanted to know if you can use the stock s13 shims?

The shims are there to take up the differences in the machining of the case, so you would re use the shims that case has. But you should still double check your work after. As far as the r&p, i havent done that but i thought it was later (r51) pathfinders peoole were using the gears from.
