Can the iPhone 5's still be used in head units that are iPod capable? I know the plug on the phone is different but does that mean it communicates differently through the USB jack?

For what kind of vehicle? Just remote start? Or remote start/keyless? Or remote start/keyless/security? |

Hey Toby, I've been thinking about doing a 3 gauge angled setup in my s14 where the center a/c vents are above the hvac controls are. What size gauge would you recommend running there 52mm or 60mm? Thanks.

Completely random, but do you have any pics of when you first got your car and how it came to be??
You should've made a separate build thread on how it transformed to basically the perfect s13 I've seen. |

About to buy some SEM Color Coat to color match my interior panels. Im assuming that satin black is closest to matching oem? I was wondering if you have used any of the prep stuff or adhesion promoters that SEM sells? Please let me know if its a good idea to use them or if they are required. i was just gonna give it a thorough wash and then straight to paint.
Thank you! |

Hey, random question. Can you recommend a good place for universal rocker switches? I'm looking to relocate my power window switches and want something low profile, simple and functional.

Hey Broadfield, I have this really old audio setup in my 240 that I'm looking to get rid of. I just want to tear out the shotty wiring and do something simple. Is this something I could do or should I take it to a specialist? What would happen to the tweeters?
Excuse the glare... What would you recommend for a stockish look? Would I have any luck looking at newer oe units from Altima's, or Sentra's? |

Since there is an EQ, I can only assume there is separate amplification running the speakers. Which means you would most likely need to re-wire all of the speakers in addition to yanking out the head unit and slapping in a new one. But there is no way for me to know that since I'm not there working on it. When it comes to audio like this, there is more than one method of wiring it. Some installers will tap into the OEM speaker wires behind the radio and extend them to the new amplifier. Other times they will just run all new speaker wires out to the speakers from the amplifier. A third method would be to parallel the front and rear speaker wires behind the radio. Then use the rear speaker wires in the trunk as the fronts to the amplifier and then simply run new wires up to the rear speakers for the rears from the amplifier. If any of this sounds confusing then you may want to take it to someone that knows what they are doing. As for the tweeters, that's up to you. Leave them in and connected, leave them in and disconnected, take them out and have a hole there or do what I would do if I didn't want the tweeters there and get another set of mint door cards. As for OEM radios, I couldn't tell you. I only deal in aftermarket stuff. OEM radios are the devil to me. |

Hey Broadfield, Does the carpet that you bought from stock interiors have the automatic seatbelt buldge? I am trying to find a carpet without them since I converted to manual seatbelts and have a do-luck bar that runs threw the bulge. Thanks in advance!

Hi Broadfield, I have a Greddy d/a 62mm multigauge that I'm going to put in my s14, have you made a 62mm single gauge setup for s14? Where would be a fitting spot? It's a daily driver so not keen on loosing vents, have a 1 din player so have 1 din free, and I'm not a user of the ashtray so don't mind losing that.

Otherwise you would need to fill in the area below the radio and use some of the area where the ash tray is. |
