How much work will it take to swap the OBDII engine into OBDI so that it will run without problems (or codes)?

all depends on how complete the engine you have is. If you've got all of the OBD2 parts then it's simple as hell, you just use those. It is the same engine, it's the diagnostic / computational components that are different, so you'll just need the room for a few more sensors IIRC.  You should get everything with the newer engine though.

why not re-use the '95's electronics, vacuum fittings, manifolds, etc. and just swap the long block?  Assuming that's the reason for the swap.

I wouldn't want to add OBD2 to an older car.  yeccch...

You mean just the body right? Just the head and the bottom end? Are there any sensors on the block that are on a 97 but don't belong on a 95 block?

Nissan put OBDII in 95's even though it was not officially required for two more years all S14's are OBDII all S13's are OBDI
you will have no problem putting a 97 KA in a 95 you do not need to change a thing. its a drop in wire up job

Ok I have a 97, my friend has a 96 and another friend has a 95. Me and the guy with the 96 have the same exact amount of hoses over the intake mani, while the guy with 95 has like 4 times less. What are those hoses for then?
