S14 ka24de and S13 ka24de
Looking to pick up a 95' s14 chassis with a bad motor. Seen a few s13 ka24de's for sale on craigslist. Would there be any issues running an S13 ka with the s14 wire harness and ecu? Any difference in performance?

There is no difference in performance... Just small changes in the head and more emissions stuff...

depends if it's obd1 or obd2, not sure what the exact differences are but yeah emissions definitely would be the generalization.
Also to get your car to pass smog legitly, you have to run an engine from the same model year or newer in the chassis.

Yes. Depending on what you're doing you may not need them. For emissions and ease of swapping though you would just use your existing manifolds on the S13 longblock.

so everything is plug and play if you swap everything over to the S13 KA into the S14 chasis?...would I have to take out the heads?.I wouldnt mind but its a chain ..I d like it to be as stock as possible as far as the harness goes too...

hey guys this is my first post although i've been reading the forum for a while now. I too have an s14 with a blown motor, which has already been pulled out, and I bought an s13 KA. So I was planning on swapping out the intake, but also the motor I purchased was off a MT and my car is AT. Is there anything else I need to swap other than the torque converter.

And the flex plate, but you knew that.

So swapping the intake is just for emissions purposes? And vice versa? What about the distributors? I was told the s14 and s13 are different. I'm doing the opposite, I'm swapping an s14 ka (95, obd1) into my 89, and if it's just for emissions I don't want to go through the hassle.

The distributor is different. There's plenty of threads on the parts needed to swap, this one was started just to decipher longblock differences.

Yeah, I have the one thread saved on how to swap everything. I'm just going to swap intake/exhaust mani and distributor. I got a s13 dohc harness to use as well if needed.
To the OP, I forget the link, but here is the info. /close thread. Quote:
