ARP Head bolts
Ok I am in the process of doing a top end rebuild on my KA24e. It was just gonna be a head gasket, but after getting into it I went the full monty. My question is I have been told that I should go with ARP head bolts. I have been to ARP's web site and they do not list head bolts, or studs for the KA24e. Is there a cross reference that you guys know, or do I go with OEM wich will have to be ordered in. My local Nissan dealer does not stock them.

dude no one will admit it, but im pretty shure ppl just piece together kits.. best is actually to call them... since they make it... the full monty? OK throw in a high performance cam and some new springs and retainers.... with the metal HG... youd be good to go... im very intrested in building a 12 valve also since theyre so simple and cheap....

Ok.. couple of answers/options...
A) If you aren't boosting.. probably not much need for ARP head studs. Just buy some OE pieces and be done with it. B)If you decide you are boosting or that you just want to spend the $$ on ARP's to say you've got em.. then ARP is going to need to know a few dimensions from you. Their tech dept is pretty adept and helping people source the right bolts/studs. They'll want to know what the UHL (under head length) of the factory bolts are.. also size and thread pitch. They'll aslo need to know a few other things but I forget what. I sell ARP and frankly I HATE sourcing custom head studs, etc. You'll have to get studs, nuts and washers seperately. They usually sell them either as singles or in packs of 4-5. Seriously though.. unless your running boost there is no need to run ARP head studs. Or unless your constantly removing your head for maintence, etc (i.e. race motor) |

Bztech...Thanks for the answers/ options. She has no boost, and if I was gonna boost her I think I would swap in an SR20. Off to Nissan I go, hope it does not take long to get them. I want to drive it not wrench on it.
