bogging only after and during drifting KA24de

OK i know sounds really odd, but here is my problem.

First i have to put it int the clear that i have a s13 KA24de

So it only started happening a month ago. So a month i went drifting at thunder hill and later on at the event when i stepped on the gas, in first the car started to bogg and feel hesitant and did not want to go any faster as if it was restircting fuel. So pulled off the skid pad and let the car rest for a bit. Open the hood and noticed that one of the spark plug wires seem to bt elmost touching the header. Went back out again and it was fine until my 2nd run it started to do it again. Like it feels as if it is not getting enough full and then comes back to life. Drove it home the day of the event still kinda boggy and hesitant but i was able to make it home.

The next day started the car up and it ran like a champ as if nothing happened...But i was not going to let that fool me. So cleaned out the MAF sensor, checked my plugs and change the cap and rotar. everything seem fine.

Next thunder drift event i get one real good run and then my next run, my car does the same thing. Keep in mind that there is a month gap between events. So i pulled the car off the pad called it a day. let the car rest and started it up the next day, it was fine. Now driving home is where it gets really bad. As my freinds and i where driving home, the bogging get progressivly worse and worse to the point there the car would start to lose rpms and then it would come back to life again. It would bogg like hell and u can smell fuel. It got so bad to the point where i was losing rpms slowly and no matter how much i pushed the gas pedal, there would be no response at all. All eletronics is still working even power steering. So i pulled over but we needed to go to the next exit b.c of the stuff my freinds put in there car. CHP are real dicks in CA. So put the car in first and the car drives fine and we make it to the next exit fine into the gas station. Open the hood and wiggled the wires and such and nothing, no bogging.

The next day i wake up to use the car to go to work and yet again the car starts up just fine as if nothing happend.........

I am realy confused as to what the hell is wrong with the car b.c it only does this when i go drifting.... so its hard to pin point the problem. PLZ anyone help me with thei problem its really annoying as hell.

I'm experiencing the same issue in my Miata. I would check the fuel tank and pump assembly. The fuel tank in my car looks pretty corroded, and I've had to pull the pump assembly out and change the sock. It ran fine after that until I went to another track event and sloshed the fuel around again.

It could be there are sediments in your tank, and when you drive the car on track you are aggitating them to the point they are suspended in the fuel. Then when you let the car set, the sediments fall back down to the base, under and away from the pump pick-up point.

Might be worth looking into, and then possibly changing out the sock and fuel filter.
