What's with companies replacing their wheels with ugly/ugiier wheels?

Like every Emotion series wheel Work makes now is worse than the one it replaced.

They're trying to keep up with car companies that are making uglier and uglier cars.

I had MB Battles on my 350z and I liked them. Paid $600 cash for them at the time w/ tires.

i was told mid 2018 by a discount tire rep that they are coming back. i saw a FS thread that was created 12/18 that stated he talked to someone at discount tire and said they arent comming back.

idk. maybe they did one final run and said F it. doesnt make sense as id be willing to bet its one of their most popular wheels. ill send a PM to a discount tire rep i have on another forum and report back.

here is what i got back:
Quote:
The MB Battle has been discontinued in most part numbers, but there are still active part numbers still in production.
i asked for clarification, but this is in line with post #52. they are only moving forward with certain sizes.

Oh. Well, those are the only sizes most care about any ways.

yeah, im just not sure what the back and forth is. i believe discount tire is a pretty big company, so maybe not all the sales reps are up to date on their info.

edit:
rep got back to me:
Quote:
My apologies for the confusion - I can see how that sentence is confusing!

Let me start over...

Before the MB Battle line was sold, the Battle was offered in over 15 sizes/finishes, or if you will, part numbers. The new manufacturer killed off the sizes that weren't high volume movers and is only producing the popular sizes and finishes.

As of right now, the 17x9 ET30 in bronze, 17x9.5 ET+15 in bronze, 18x8 ET30 in gunmetal and 18x8 ET+43 in matte black are currently available from the manufacturer. 5-114.3 applications only.
so it looks like they even killed off more sizes than what i was told was in post 52. bummer. no more 18x9.5.

yeah that is what i told the rep and he said whoever owns the molds now has jumped around on sizing more than once. which would explain all of the contradicting info.

If you type in MB BATTLES at DTD, a slew...well...a solid number of various wheels sizes/choices pop up and currently, they still have at least this 9.5. I didn't do a full check. But, I have to get dumb low to not look dumb to run them on my LS since my 240 is in the wind until I can find another.

yes, we know how to search on their site. although it appears you have missed the 'on order' part found on all of the 9.5 width wheels (with the exception of the +38, but no one wants those, lol).
