S14 timing chain snapped

so yesterday on the freeway cruising my car loses power then shuts off. looked under the hood to find out my valve cover cracked open. I believe the timing chain snapped, and i was wondering if this has happen to anyone here. wanted to know if there was a chance my head would still be ok. also my car had chain rattle for a while.

A month old here but I would say just open her up and see for yourself. I have had a tensioner fail and break tf apart causing valve damage, though I was rolling up to a stop sign going maybe 25MPH. I had just got the best MPG I ever had with that motor and heard no chain rattle prior. Really you have no way of knowing without taking the time to remove and inspect the head
