My DIY Horn Switch

I just bought my 240, and some idiot took out the horn switch within the steering wheel. So i had to wire one in, myself. I know I'm going to get a lot fo criticism about running it through the door jamb. But it's only temporary so that I can get my inspection sticker. Hope this entertains/helps!

Hrm. I think you would have been better off buying another S13 steering wheel. Not sure how dangling a switch through that rectangular opening puts that space to good use.

edit: Oh, he's 16...

I'm not sure that will even pass inspection with the wire roaming like that..

Your car, Your choice, will this be implemented in my car? No.

Stop flaming, I'm just a 16 year old. And I don't have a job and a plethora of money to flawlessly fix things. So stop flaming on me, unless you're a loser with nothing better to do than hate on me. Get a life, I'm just trying to share my experience. And in no way have I given you a reason to insult me. I'm sure half of you did stupid things like this when you were my age. So be nice, Please.

That's horrible. There is absolutely no reason for you to document how you modified your horn, no one is going to use that information because it's worthless. A couple years down the road you will look back at this thread and go "Wow, I was an idiot back then." Seriously, put down the electrical tenaciousness and try again after you gain more knowledge.

Also, is there a reason you need to desperately get your car on the road so much to the point that you will ghetto rig a horn?

Sorry to be so harsh but there is nothing good coming from your posts.

We're not telling you to flawlessly fix things, were telling you to fix it properly instead of half assing it. All you're gonna end up doing is redoing that shit again. If you did it right the first time, you wont have to fix it again later down the road. While its awesome that you did this yourself, theres a right way of doing it and this is definitely not it. A spool of wire, fuse holder and running the wire thru the firewall isnt exactly a hard thing to do or is it that expensive. If you can get money for gas, why the hell cant you spare $15 for the stuff? Better yet, did you even attempt to figure out why the horn doesnt work? Busting out a manual, that can be had online for free, find the wire for the horn and figure out why its not working. It could be just a minor fix or you could have atleast attempted to reuse the stock wiring for it.

I absolutely hate bad wiring...nothing else will make you want to set your car on fire when electrical gremlins come out of the wood work.
