Clutch to the floor

Yesterday my clutch went straight to the floor and i replaced the slave cylinder and that solved that issue, but today my clutch started getting easier and easier to push in then the clutch went straight to the floor. i cs=ant put it in gear anymore. Clutch failure? maybe? I just replaced the master and slave cylinder and replaced the fluid. I ordered a new clutch a couple days ago before all this maddness started so maybe after the new clutch goes in this will solve everything. help please.

sounds like you are losing pressure in the line. ie. a leak.

If there's fluid on the ground, even two drips you have a small leak, enough to cause a problem. The master and slave dont actually build any pressure, pumping wont do shit. If it really isn't leaking, check your fork, it is possible that it can come off the release bearing.

I had this exact problem a little while ago, and went through all the trouble shooting. At the end of the day I pulled the tranny and my pressure plate was the cause, some release strapping of metal broke off and caused about 3 fins to get bent.

S13 or S14? The s13 has a block that's added in(can't remember what it's called right now) that connects the clutch master cylinder and slave cylinder. I removed that and all my problems went away. Not sure if the s14 has it though! Goodluck.

While bleeding the system you should check to make sure the slave/throwout fork are moving freely. I've seen a fork brake (on KA-T.org forums) once, strangest thing. If everthing looks good from the outside (pedal assembly, master, slave) I'd pull the transmission off to look and see if the rest of the system is in good working order. Its a super simple system, its all mechanical.

Wipe off all the fluid and verify it doesn't leak. If it leaks, you need to fix it. Also, bleeding the system with that damper loop in there is a royal PITA. You should definitely get rid of it.

My clutch pedal assembly just shit the bed the other day. After replacing the slave and master cylinders and removing the transmission and everything checking out, I discovered that the cheap tack weld from the factory failed and snapped. I could still engage the clutch but only slightly and the pedal was almost completely on the floor. Grab a flashlight, get under the dash and grab the pedal and see if you can get the entire assembly to rock back and forth. If it does you just need to swap out the assembly. I'd imagine it's rare as hell, but it does happen.

GL.
