DorkiDori S13 V3 Skirts Updates!!! Making a great product even better! ;)
I decided it was time to make a few updates to my S13 V3 skirts. Nothing major, just a few things that had bugged me over the years (including how the parts mount to the car). Im always looking for ways of improving what I make for you all, so this is a good example of just that! Skirts will be available again within the next 2 weeks. awesome update. So the obvious change is the surface you added below the door for mounting what looks like two sided tape (?). Other than that what else have you changed? You said a few things had bugged you, so I was just wondering what got under your skin with the skirts?

went thru and changed the trim around the entire skirt. new finishing lines have been traced in the molds. the fender well areas are now finished off a lot cleaner too. the way the parts contour the body of the car is much better. its all a bunch of little shit that no one else but me noticed over the years. i made these skirts some 5-6 years ago and i didnt have the eye for detail that i have now... so basically between the trim on the skirts and the door sil mounting flange are all things ive wanted to take care for the past 2-3 years and i finally had the time and means to do so. i was hoping my prototype set would be finished last weekend, but they got pushed to this comign weekend (10-24)... so hopefully the update skirts will be up on the site this coming weekend along with part 2 of the video via YouTube (i have half of it done already, just need to shoot footage for the 2nd half). up next starting in Nov... 180sx "type x" bumper and FRP "type x" lip. no, im not getting rid of my urethane lip, im just going to offer both so if i dont have urethane lips i stock, people can still order a lip and the FRP lip + bumper will be offered as a combo (along with the full "type x" kit). also i have a certain bumper coming back to my product line next year in FRP that you guys may remember i use to make in urethane |

I like the revisions you made to the sideskirts. Can't wait when I get a set. I know I will be getting your lip end of next month.
Have you ever thought about make a urethane "type x" wing at all? I feel like that would be a good seller however I don't know how much that would cost to produce though.

if i make a "type x" wing, it will be in FRP. $10,000-$12,000 in mold costs for a "type x" wing in urethane aaaaaand having to order 25 of them at a time just isnt in the cards. the "type x" wing is still gonna be dumb ass expensive to mold and produce in FRP as well. ive spent a lot of time lately thinking about what will produce the best ROI for my time and effort, and ive had a HUGE hole in my product line up (well multiple holes) lacking a variety of front bumpers. the 4 bumpers im releasing will fix A LOT of issues and garner A LOT of needed attention... especially in terms of what can be mixed and matched. the 3 bumpers im importing from Japan ALL fell together so perfectly in terms of timing, purchasing and getting them ready to be brought over to the US. |
