How many of you have had some real beater or slow car try to race you. I've had 3 really good ones.

In my brother modded corvette a guy in his minivan revved his motor at me. We just drove "normal" and stomped him obviously.

In my 240 a guy in an old chrysler station wagon full of clothes and crap. Looked like he was moving. It was smoking like a chimney and about 3 different colors. Needless to say he wasn't even close.

Last was in dodge dakota. 5 young kids were driving along in moms town and country minivan. They pulled up next to me and put down the window to ask if I wanted to go. I laughed and said sure. While the light was still red I just powerbraked it a lil and the truck slid sideways. They looked over in disbelief and as the light turned green I was gone like a fart in the wind.

91 CRX (Si, but who cares), stock. The guy was so sure he could keep up. Hehheh...

The funny thing is, I was talking to the guy online (a friend I guess, or friend's friend) when he said he wanted to race me with his stock CRX, which had NOS. Well he later admitted that it didn't have NOS but still insists that he'd win. Well I went over and there was the CRX, but he then admitted that it was his friend's, not his. Then his friend insisted that the CRX would win. It was on a residential road with cars parked on the sides so I said nah, not a good place at all. Oh well, we went for it anyway when we were leaving. =P

Some kids in a Buick, prolly a Century, late 80s. Passenger rolled down his window and made funny faces while the driver revved the engine. . . Was much fun. After I beat him, he got stuck at the next light, next to my brother in his Trooper. He beat the kids too

Im still wondering why 'owning' some station wagon, hatchback, generic pos four door family car or mini bus is still an object of discussion?

Then again Im gettin old and dont tend to pick on the weak

My answer though would be- anything Korean, without going over 4000rpm

Back when I drove a pick-up truck (an '83 4-cyl Ford Ranger) .. have I shared this story? .. some punk kid in a red sports car revved his engine at a light to race me. I had only just started driving, so my obsession with cars hadn't set in yet, and as such, I don't know what it was. Doesn't matter. Point is, it was a sports car and he was racing a fifteen year old pick-up truck.

Well, he pulled ahead instantly. And not really because I didn't try as much as if I had tried, there'd be no way of telling anyway. He was promptly pulled over, so since I was the first to make it a quarter mile away from the light, I guess I may have won that.

Anyway, stupid kids used to race me in that piece of shit a lot. I never quite understood where the thrill was.

the b20 is a CRV engine and no the b16 and b18 are not the same. B16 is 1.6 liter and b18 is 1.8. Depending on what series or whatever, but the b16a1 was in like 99+ si civics. There is a b16a2 but thats a j-spec and it was like 10 more hp over the a1. The b18c??5 was in gsr integra's. I know one of the b18's was in the type r..not sure which one..b18c5 or c3 or something..i dont remember. I was all about swappin a crx with a b16 or b18, but then i discoverd that i could get a SR swap for about the same. It really doesnt matter right now cuz i have no money for either car..but when i do.....

Early Integras had the B18a motor in them. The 92/93 Integra GS-r had the b17a1. The 94 + integra has a b18b engine, the gs-r with a b18a. The Type-r has the b18c5.

heh. today a aqua blue 2 door saturn wanted to race. here were his upgrades. black bra up front, cheap 14" wheels you'd get from your local tire supplier, and a non fitting huge exhaust system that was being held up by only the pipe (no hangers) he saw me and since i had an import with only exhaust he thought (muahaha) i guess he had something to prove about saturns.

he revved his engine. i got scared, real scared because this guy meant business with all this cosmetic upgrades.

well let's just say i kicked his ass and i only revved to 4000 in second and third. then we got stuck behind cars and he looks over all surprised (like he fuckin had me in the first place?) i turn to him and give him a goofy face and 2 thumbs up and say "nice race dude hrhrhrhrh!" he gets pissed then we get on the highway execpt this time i rev to 6000 in 3rd and 4th. after that he backed off...i don't know why....

other sure losers are any civic except an si, sometimes those can be quick if they do a few mods. CRX's are pure crap from my experience, watch out for their black smoke screen. cavalier Z24s are slow (except the two that beat me by only a car length with nitrous). and those primered lowered hot rod trucks. they do good until i hit 5000 in each gear, then i still got 1000 to go and i'm pulling away.
