Evo Drift Car Build
Hey guys welcome to my new build. something different on here, this is my third evo, it's an evo 1 gsr which will be stripped down and built into a true drift car, planning in competing in dmcc pro-am to start with
my other cars my daily driver/winter beater 1995 Lancer Evolution 3 my summer 1993 Lancer Evolution 1 converted rwd anyways............. the car was in an accident and the front end will need to be redone first time seeing the car on pictures when i first went to see it after trading my wrx for the evo 3 and the evo 1 gsr smashed after sitting there since like january i went to pick it up finally the 3 evos or Threevo lol :P some damage and missing door that the guy had sold,... damn lol shock tower bent and frame rail too... well my friend gave me his colt after we blew the engine, the colt is the parts car to fix some bo-bos front end of the colt undamaged ok back to rwd evo build gay chrysler logo on fender in place of indicators, now these will be replaced with indicators that i have poped them out for now door bolted on, fender just put on not bolted hood on but only so it doesnt rain into the engine, anyways i got something planned for the hood you guys will see duh well thats it for now but my plan which why I'm posting it on here, is something like this buy s13 with sr20det front clip, ad powerplan, subframe, front brakes etc i'll probably holset turbo that thing up 300-400hp aiming the reasons i'm going with sr20 and not 4g63 well for starters this is a budget evo drift build car so it would be way to costly fitting and finding the transmission and mating, water pump etc when i can just put in an engine that is made to be like that and reliable easy to mod and will make the power goals i want, maybe i'll eventually go back to 4g63 but if i do want to challenge the big boys in the states one day i'm thinking mitsubishi v6 twin turbo or 300zx engine mated to a hollander transmission with or a jerico 4speed with dogbox but thats just a dream right now and a realisation once i get more sponcers and money lol but for now sr20det is the weapon of choice for now for rear evo 5-6 rear subframe, with dual welding 300zx dual callipers with s13 rear diff and axles or stock evo 5-9 rear diff though dont know if it would be able to handle the power im aiming for, though power is not more important than handling roll-cage nothing planned yet as for body will probably do something custom wide-body dunno yet we'll see hopefully once done should look something like this lol looking to competing in the pro-am drifting as a rookie and building my way to pro and then formula d, but need to build car first then practice then get good hopefully then win and then move on up my imagination of what it could look like once done for those who are like an s13 front subframe wont fit,... SILVIA SUBFRAME lol exactly what i'm going to do, i actually found this video after deciding to use that subframe which is funny but awesome lol Team Orange D1 CT9A Build - YouTube anyways lemme know what you think and support and if anybody got some tips and stuff lemme know and I will be making a video series vlog style build on the car for sure i'm also new to the forum so hi everybody shawn |

thanks guys was waiting for this to be accepted lol
ok well heres video one in my build finally been reading up on the rules and i can't modify the stock front subframe or install a s13 one,... so i'll have to tube frame i'll have to take the stock subframe cut the middle part and weld a bar so that it the engine and transmission will fit and with the engine in place and everything good i'll remove it and get it turned into a tubeframe here are the rules 8.3.1 Basic Chassis Design The vehicle chassis, frame and / or uni-body must remain unmodified between the vertical planes created by the original forward most and rearwardmost suspension mounting points unless otherwise specified in these rules.Uni-body or chassis may be seam welded. 8.3.3 Modifications of the stock, OEM firewall and transmission tunnel are allowed as follows: Version 2.2 April 25th 2012 DRIFT MANIA CANADIAN CHAMPIONSHIP 2012 Rules and Regulations Dimension A: Tunnel Width May be no wider than 18 Inches Dimension B: Minimum dimension of 10 inches between the bottom of the windshield and the top of the transmission tunnel. Dimension C: Modifications of the driveshaft tunnels behind the transmission tunnel taper vertical plane should not exceed an overall width of 10 inches. Dimension D: Modifications to driveshaft tunnels behind the transmission tunnel taper vertical plane should not exceed an overall width of 10 inches. Taper Length: (from the firewall to the end of the transmission tunnel into the beginning of the driveshaft hump) may be no longer than 36 inches. No part of the engine casing may cross the vertical plane of the original firewall into the transmission tunnel. No other modifications may be made to the vehicle chassis, frame, or uni-body unless otherwise specified in these rules. Any holes in the firewall must be of the minimum size for the passage of controls and wires, and must be completely sealed to prevent the passage of fluids or flames from the engine compartment to the cockpit. 8.3.4 Front cross member and/or front or rear sub-frame The cross-members and the sub-frame front and back may be of origin or tubular fabrication. The cross members must be located at the exact same position as the one of origin of the car and must not be displaced on the frame and cannot be cut and the “chassis” cannot be modified as stated in point 8.3.1. The arm suspension anchor points on the origin part or tubular fabrication may be re-located from its original position. and here is i video trailer from some footage from yesterday |

hey guys little updates
Part 2 is now up basically i took the engine out of the colt and take a look at what i'll need to do for the evo to get the transmission tunnel working also talk about chopping colt rear quarter panels to fix the evo incase of rear ending or wall tapping etc lol oh btw remember how i said i was going to fit these in my first video?? and that i needed to modify the trailing arm and fit some nissan hub and bearings because i'll be running r200 rear diff :P well my mind just exploded while i was at the gym and after looking at a video of some new rear knuckles that Fredric Aasbø was talking about on his supra well I got an nice idea and will have to send an e-mail to my buddy Pete whose a suspension guru , and show him what i need and what I'd like him to do for me hopefully he can find the time to autocad the parts and test them oh his suspension program to see how they would work etc anyways more updates on that later Fredric Aasbø video that inspired my new setup I want to build i'll be getting these front knuckles and i'll be using a s13 steering rack to go with it , so hopefully more angle and will handle better when lowered, well you'll see once I get updates on that :P for now check out my drift fest video Shawn |

hey guys nothing new really, made the cover of montreal racing at drift fest :P I'm the passenger holding the gopro lol
My dad bought me this while he was in toronto last weekend s15 my dream car which I might buy one day Legal here in Ontario in 2014 and NO! I do not want an r34!!! anyways the plate!!! so back to my build just been doing a list of some parts to find/buy so I know what i need to do/get eventually and I got this so far - Driftworks 350MM Steering Wheel - S14 Drift Hub Knuckles GeoMaster2 - R200 rear Differential with axles . - 300zx N/A, s14, skyine? j30? . - 1, 1.5, 2way Mechanical LSD?????? Any Suggestions - s13 front clip - 300zx master brake cylinder + Pedal . - Rear Dual Caliper bracket . - 2X 300zx 2Pot Calipers . - Evo 8/9 Front Brembo with Madparts.net Bracket (Not sure yet) - 300zx N/A rear Hub and Bearing (5 bolt rear ) - Front Hubs From Drop Engineering (5 bolt front ) - Find place to get a rollcage installed - RHD Impreza Steering Rack + Column + Steering Quickener if not fast enough - SR20det + wiring + ecu - New Clutch Kit - Custom Driveshaft from The Driveshaft Shop - Hoping for space for V-Mount . - Rad . - Intercooler my major ??? right now is what diff case / axles I should get and what lsd should I put inside, I can get some 240sx parts cheap as my friend found these 4 babies in the scrap yard so I'm asking if i should get the rear diff axles and driveshaft so somebody tell me if i should get the driveshaft, axles and diff axles and diff is easy to understand why, but driveshaft would be to measure and cut to proper length and send to the driveshaft shop to get one custom made that is the proper length but does a ka24 driveshaft fit in a sr20 transmission??? so if i get a diff from the scrap 240 how do i know it's a r200 cuz thats what I want other wise i'll go get one from a 300zx n/a or skyline at my local jdm shops and then choose the right lsd to go in eventually, and if they are all r200s i'll get all 4 lol for spare you know well i guess that's all for now umm wait me and a hot nos girl at dmcc round 4 last saturday son! started with eggs benedict and coffee and heres us doing the 3hour drive to go brought a spare steering wheel lol scaring the shit outta people lol my little bro btw and parked at the show & shine with my friend's gc wagon spitfire edition :P lol can't wait saturday Open Slide!!! for you local people of you guys wanting to make a nice weekend come on down!!! Message me if you wanna meet we can talk and watch drift ok well talk to you guys later also if you got suggestions for parts to put on etc lemme know as i'm kinda in a writer's parts blockage lol Shawn |

thanks guys it keeps me motivated, my gf left me 4months ago, which is why i'm at my parents house :S but I'm looking to buy a house here to one year and I found a couple of cheap nice ones, so if i buy a house I'll just take out an extra 10000-15000$ and complete the car a whole lot faster than just sourcing parts slowly but if not it will be done, i'm not letting this go, working slowly and should be pretty wild once done
for now here the video of the open slide from last saturday :P, was a wild event 10000$ winner American Mike Pollard in his 240sx s13 hb flipup, he was on fire all day, I actually talked with him on facebook a couple of days before and told me to bring real grippy tires cuz the track was concreate and not asphalt :P, looked to pay off he was the fastest all day :P some photos i took with instagram some professional photos lol i'm the dude filming at the top hahaha again me on top with the black t-shirt lol, not even filming but reflecting, this is what i'll be doing next year hopefully and whats a drift event with me not taking pictures with some babes :P no nos chicks sooo hype energy girls? lol Sporting the new haircut!!!!! lol and a preview to my friend's s13 video hope all the footage comes out good thanks Shawn Last edited by Poirier4; 07-30-2012 at 04:42 AM.. |
