That is some crazy shit! I've seen this Star Wars Documentary a few years back and it had all the technological advances that appeared in the movie and the technology that modern humans are making. It seems that within the next 20 years or so we'll be seeing all types if crazy technological advances from bionics to even clones. I just want a Gundam...

Thats awesome.
Similarly, my dad is a orthopaedic surgeon and he is now doing robot assisted computer navigated hip and knee replacements. They take a cat scan of the joint and feed it into the computer, put pins in the bones that have sensors so the computer knows where the joint is in 3 dimensional space and plan out where the prosthesis will go in. Then the surgeon moves the robotic arm and drills out the bone when the implant will be inserted. The robot won't allow the drill bit to go anywhere outside of the space that is supposed to be drilled. The scary part is moving the joint around and watching the arm move with it completely by itself, with 99% accuracy. The technology is already capable of having the robot drill out the bone by itself without the doctor guiding it, but the FDA hasn't cleared that yet. Pretty crazy shit. I got to use it on a cadaver. Robotics are really starting to creep closer to what we have seen in movies for the past thirty years. |

My Dad has titanium knee's. His old ones were just gone no cartilage left. He could barely walk and was in constant pain. Doctor was amazed he had managed so far without doing anything. Got them replaced like 3 or 4 years ago and now he walks around like its nothing.
Shit is getting more amazing every year.

now wouldnt it suck to get fitted for one. spend all that money. wait X amount of months just to realise they made a bionic left hand for your right hand. wonder what it would be like to have two of the same hand.. i do not know why i thought of that..
