BA Speaker Plates Are Back!
BA Speaker Plates Are BACK!
UAC's Big Angle Speaker Plates! Big Angle Speaker Plates Our BA Speaker Adapters replace your existing factory S13 ones giving you the option of putting a 6.5" round speaker in the doors like they should have had in the first place. Other kits out there only offer a flat plate to mount the speaker on, which is fine if you don't mind having your mids and highs aimed at you feet. Our plates let you have your cake and eat it too by aiming your new speakers up as close to the factory angle as possible giving you better sound quality while fitting behind the stock grills and door panels. Plates install using your factory hardware and speakers should be bolted in using the supplied mounting hardware. Accepts 6.5" round speakers that require a 5 1/16" cutout or less, but they should be test fitted with the window rolled all the way down before bolting them in as the glass determines the maximum depth/magnet diameter. Kit includes: one left plate, one right plate, stainless screws, capture nuts, and one drill bit. Fits 89-94 240sx, Silvia, 180sx, and all S13 models Price: $74.99 + shipping & tax if applicable Click here for the Install Guide: FYI S14's already have 6.5" door speakers. Speaker Selection Guide This guide will give you some helpful tips to assist you in your speaker selection process. • Find a speaker that calls for a 5 1/16 cutout hole or less. • Look at the Top Mounting Depth dimension, the shorter the better. • Don't select a speaker with a huge magnet on it. It may not clear the glass. • BA Plates mount the speaker in the door at an angle, which is why you want them, but at the same time points the corner of the magnet at the glass. The distance from this corner to the glass is what you have to be careful off. • Understand that the mounting depth / magnet diameter varies from one speaker to another so not all speakers with a mounting depth of "X" will fit due to the varying magnet diameters from one model to the next. Also not all speakers with a magnet diameter of "Y" will fit due to different mounting depths. • There are 6 3/4" speakers too. Sometimes they are listed as 6 1/2" speakers. They will not fit with the BA Plates. Check with the manufacturer and or with various sellers to make sure that they are not 6 3/4" • Crutchfield.com is a good resource for information on current speakers. Once you make a choice, click the "Details" tab to view the specs. • Examples of speakers that have been confirmed to fit are: 1 5/8" mounting depth with a 2 7/8" diameter magnet and 1 7/8 mounting depth with a 2 3/4" magnet. • Good luck with your search! Of course they can. They fit behind the door panels just fine. I stated up top that they " fit behind the stock grills" but maybe I wasn't clear enough. I'll reword it a bit to be more apparent. Thanks for pointing that out.
